4/20/2025 I came to this Dairy Queen to pick up dinner. Came to the order speaker and a lady told me one moment, so I waited. 8-10 mins go by and am still waiting even after the person before me left with their food. Finally someone comes on to take my order, and the tone of voice given was not great. Placed my order, got it and went home.
My cheese curds I ordered were TERRIBLE. the bag was already covered in grease, and so were my other items. And when I pulled them out of the bag, they looked old and stale, packed with grease and grease pouring out when they were gently squeezed. I didn’t even attempt to eat them and called the store back to get something done.
Payed almost $30 ($25 with a coupon I had) for my food, only for it to be disappointing. And I get a replacement cheese curd out of it (which honestly I probably won’t go and claim since it doesn’t really justify the fact that this location is probably the worse one I’ve been to.
1/10 DO NOT recommend unless you live on the east side.
Pictures of the bag and curds box/curds to show how bad they looked.
The food is way overpriced for what you get ($5+ for a cheeseburger a-la-carte) and their menu gives you “an illusion of choice” (the price of the small to large items are so close together that it would be foolish not to buy large). This is a deceptive marketing tactic.
Food: The food tasted good, but not good enough for the price.
Service: The service was dismissive.
Atmosphere: Dairy Queen used to be a treat. No longer…
Summary: Your food dollars are better spent elsewhere.
Standard Spiel to Owners: Don’t ask me to call or reach out. I don’t accept any outreach. Fix the challenges or capitalize on the successes. I always return to all locations anyways.
With Dairy Queen and their group order games.
Every time I say, ‘Hey, I’ve got a group order,’ they look at me like I just declared war.
Like I’m the villain in their origin story.
Like I’m the reason their shift is cursed.
I gave you a list. A printed list. With names. With sauces. With sides.
And somehow… SOMEHOW… you still gave me a Blizzard with onions and a burger with no patty.
Who is Jared and why is his order in my bag?
Why is my name written on a cup of melted air?
And don’t even get me started on the sauces.
I asked for ranch. You gave me existential dread.
I asked for honey mustard. You gave me a single ketchup packet and a whisper of shame.
You sealed the bag like it was sacred. Like it was blessed by the Queen herself.
But when I opened it?
It was chaos. It was betrayal. It was a culinary crime scene.
And now I’m the villain.
I’m the one going back inside like, ‘Hey, sorry, you forgot half the order and gave me a spoon taped to a napkin.’
And they look at me like I’m unreasonable.
Like I’m the drama.
Well guess what? I AM the drama. And I brought receipts.
So next time I say ‘group order’?
I’m bringing a clipboard, a megaphone, and a lawyer.
Because at Dairy Queen, it’s not a drive-thru.
It’s a choose-your-own-disappointment adventure.
And baby, I didn’t sign up for this side quest.”
The lady at register rung it correct, but the people in the back made the wrong thing. The older lady in register was complaining no end on how bad the employees in the back were. Now I’ve worked with lazy coworkers before and it is difficult, however it is not professional to bad mouth them to customers. If the owner isn’t dealing with it they will find out when people stop going because of the terrible service.
The cleanliness was not impressive. The place hadn’t been properly cleaned in a while. The drink machine and booths haven’t been swept or mopped in what looks like months. I used to do professional cleaning and those areas are accessible to be cleaned. If this is how they clean the lobby I’d be nervous to eat what comes out of the kitchen.
