Love the ice cream and shakes here. Great food too. I usually go through the drive-thru but today stopped and decided to eat in. Warmly greeted by the General Manager when I walked in. Very nice and friendly lady. Took my order. Relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. Dining area as well as restrooms were clean. (I went to one restroom and wife went to other restroom). Handicapped parking at the main entrance with just a slight ramp provided for wheelchair accessibility. General Manager brought our order to our table. Always great food, order is correct and fair pricing. We will continue to go to Dairy Queen in Athens and I recommend.

I usually get great service here. I’m not sure what was wrong with the young lady giving the food out. She rolled her eyes and acted like we were a huge inconvenience. We got 2 ice cream cones. When I come here I usually get a smiling face and friendly service. Maybe this person shouldn’t be interacting with the customers.

We drove by and ordered ice cream and fries for the long ride back home. We ordered 2 medium Reese’s PBCup Blizzards, a vanilla cone and large fries. Their service was great, the blizzards were mixed real good at the bottom. Some DQs do not mix real well and vanilla ice cream still untouched at the bottom of the cup. Their fries are AMAZING! Fresh and seasoned with salt just right.
Only thing I disliked was when I asked for an iced cup of water, they were charging .60 cents for a small one and for a large one they will charge full price of $3.69ish … FOR A CUP OF WATER!!?? Who does that? A turn off for sure.
I give 4 stars for service cos of the water foolishness and 4 stars on atmosphere since we went through the drive through.

Google advertised them as open until 10:30pm the signs on the door list them as open until 11:00pm on Fridays we arrived at 10:00pm and the manager came out not necessarily rude or anything but as if we were an inconvenience, and said they close at 10:00pm and that they’ve always closed at 10. They need to update their hours or hold true to the advertised hours of operation. When they actually do provide service the food is decent.

Dairy Queen is my all-time favorite fast food restaurant! Every location I’ve eaten at has had excellent service, delicious food and besides that they go the extra mile to see that you are pleased with what you order and they are very accommodating! The Athens, Tennessee location is especially great. Assistant Manager, Bev is friendly and professional at the same time! She deserves a raise! There are so many fast food restaurants that have just a bunch of young kids working for them without any experienced staff behind them to put out fires and to be an example for how to treat people coming in to eat or going through the drive through. Dairy Queen has got the right balance of people and the experience of ordering food is easy! The food is delicious. I took some pictures of what my husband and I ordered. I had the Rotisserie Chicken salad ( wonderful) some pretzels with cheese dip, and a ice cream sundae. My husband got the flame thrower (which is delicious) fries and pretzels! Also, bathroom facilities are spotless!

Hello folks, thanks for reading my review. This is our second trip here, one shortly after the place opened and again today, 5-20-18. The first time we had something to eat. The food was average for this kind of place. The prices are competitive and service was alright. One thing I liked was after you order you’re given a number, like some one else does, and they bring your order to you. I won’t comment further on the food, others do that enough. I’ll concentrate on the place itself, which is normal for my reviews; everyone always talks about the food and service. I prefer to look at other things.
Being newly opened the place is still in decent condition. My wife likes the treats Dairy Queen makes so I think there will be updates on this subject. There is a nice patio area with plenty of seating (sorry, forgot to take a picture). There is one feature I found quite interesting. The drive through is actually a sliding glass door that the employee uses to go out to the car. No windows for them or the customer to lean out of to pass things. It looked to be foot operated. I supposed it can’t be opened from outside. I gave a three star because there is nothing really great nor really bad about the place. It was what I expected. Four & five stars are rare for me.

I’ll keep it short and sweet. The food was great. The service was really great. I didn’t have to wait very long for my food. The uh, the quality of the food was really good, better than a lot of other places. And everybody there was friendly and the place was clean and the Wi-Fi even worked really well.

I placed a mobile order for an ice cream cone and a blizzard, and upon arrival (in the drive thru), I was handed a blizzard that had a lid on it and liquid spilling from it. It wasn’t freshly made, tipped upside down to show it was blizzard form, and leaked all in my cup holder. It was more a milkshake than a blizzard. Really upset to have paid almost $10 for my order and it not be what I was expecting.
