Upon entering there was no greeting and it wasn’t until I spoke that a got a dry reply. I ordered the three tacos no drink, which was made fairly quickly. I hope it’s policy that anyone prepping or cooking food must wear gloves. Seems to be lacking because one person kept pulling up his pants while placing paper inserts into boxes. But the worst thing ever is to eat one taco and look down to grab another and see human hair on your food. Not cool and totally unacceptable! Told the young lady at the first counter who apologized and asked it I wanted them to make me more. No I’m good keep it and I couldn’t exit quick enough!

DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!!! This is the worst dairy queen I’ve ever been to in 40 years! I pulled up in the drive thru THAT WAS EMPTY AS WELL AS THE PARKING LOT, and was told that I have to wait. No big deal accept they had me sitting at the order board for 15 min. Idk what was going on but if your store is empty and I still have to wait 15 min or longer to order then they’d a problem. Everyone in town knows not to go to it and will tell you how bad the workers are at preparing food and doing their job.

Happy to find I good DQ close. Came in just after the rush and still got fresh fries and steak fingers hot from the fryer. The food running the place were nice and friendly. Only thing was the dining room could have used a little clean up, but there were currently cleaning up behind the counter, so maybe it was just still on the list.

I didn’t think any fast-food place could move slower than Whataburger—until this Dairy Queen redefined the meaning of “drive-thru.”

It was Sunday afternoon, not peak hours, and yet we waited over 30 minutes in the drive-thru for two burgers and two ice creams. That’s not a complex order—it’s barely a snack run.

Inside, it looked like just two or three employees were running the entire store. The line of cars kept growing, and the service never sped up. Too many customers. Not nearly enough staff. And worse—no apology, no update, not even eye contact. Just silence, delay, and a staff that looked completely burned out. It genuinely felt like they didn’t want to be there, and honestly, neither did we.

I don’t know if it’s just a Sunday thing, a management issue, or a permanent state of disrepair—but either way, it wasn’t a good experience and a hard pass for me in the future if I’m ever in the area again.

We ordered a steak finger basket. You could tell everything was freshly cooked. The fries were crispy and hot. The steak fingers were crunchy. You can tell nothing was sitting under heat lamps. Very good.

This place is insanely short staffed. I’ve never seen more than 2 people working at the same time. When you pull up to the speaker, no one says anything for a solid five minutes, then they ask you to wait for a minute, then finally take your order ten minutes later. With two cars ahead of us it takes 30-45 minutes to get two ice creams. Staff seems super overwhelmed, and honestly I can’t blame them because who wouldn’t be miserable and burnt out after being so short staffed for so long. They really need to hire more people, I always see one or two of the same three people when I go through.

I love Hickey’s Dairy Queen better than the regular DQ in town. Hickey is just who owns this one. Love the tacos and onion rings here. So if you’re in Mineral Wells and want Dairy Queen, this one is where you need to stop at.

Between the front staff and the cook, you can tell they don’t get along. The cook was very unsanitary had gloves on, but was constantly wiping his nose with the gloves and then grabbing the food. I watched him as he dropped frozen food on the ground picked it up and put it in the fryer. Luckily that was not my order. I politely told them thank you keep the food. Keep the money and I walked out. Would not recommend this DQ to anyone.

Happy to be able to get something vegan while the rest of the family enjoyed icecream on a hot day. Non-dairy dilly bar: vegan chocolate coated coconut based vanilla icecream, does not have a strong coconut taste! Very creamy.
