We made a wrong turn and wound up finding a great place for a summertime treat!
The Food: While the menu had all sorts of things to try, we didn’t want to take forever in the drive-thru. We ordered a Banana Split Cyclone. This was a great choice – it has real chunks of bananas and pineapple, with blended strawberries. It was a very nice treat on a hot August afternoon.
The Service; From the drive-thru, it was fast, fresh, and friendly.
The Atmosphere; We didn’t get out to enjoy the many little areas to take in the experience. (Maybe next time). But from the car it looks clean and well kept.
We’re definitely going to stop by for another!

Been here many times, always enjoyed the ice cream, but service is worst I have seen here. Owner can give excuses, but ultimately falls back on owner.
Ours, and many other ice cream treats were served like soup. Elderly lady waited over 15 minutes for fries, when she asked, the kid said he gave it to some guy…just go ask him! Really?? She asked for a refund and left. We also asked for cheddar crisps and after 20 minutes nothing, when we asked they forgot the order. So, we also asked for refund and left.

I have been coming here for over 3 decades. The last couple years the service and quality of experience has gone down. The employees now are just rude and do not care at all. I went on Sunday evening recently and waited around 45 minutes. They were under staffed and slow. The drive thru and walk up windows had huge lines. If you order a large snickers shake it is just a little bigger than the small size of a few years ago. The service size across the board has gone down while the price goes up. Extra large cones are the previous medium. I have a lot of fond memories here. I am unfortunately going to find somewhere else. Poor service, small servings, higher prices = bad value. If they would step up I would gladly come back. I feel like their answer is the same for all the negative reviews. Maybe they should plan better and staffing wouldn’t be such a issue. They have been doing this a long time. The school schedule is the same. Also, one of the main issues is the shrinking serving size. Has nothing to do with staffing. I personally would rather pay a little more and get a more ice cream. Let me clear: I would love to be a regular customer again. Nothing against them. Just currently a terrible value. If somebody cared it could be fixed. Update: Yotty’s in Kalona is what Dairy Mart used to be. Very friendly staff and great portions for a great price. Their cones are are very well done and their blizzards have tons of toppings mixed in. Their blizzard cups are a touch small but much better value overall.

First time eating here because I’m from out of state. I passed it on my way into town. It was in the cut and I wanted to try it. I definitely recommend you do the same. I got the shrimp pieces, mozzarella sticks and the banana pudding cosmo. Only $14 and worth every penny. Honestly, the customer service was the best part. I don’t think I’ll ever meet a fast food worker as dope as Eli was. I truly appreciate him. Blessings upon him and this establishment. Thank y’all!

Food is always great and reasonably priced! Although the young man at the drive drive through window the last few times we have came has been very rude. Eye rolling, short and very unhelpful. Last night was the worst it’s been so far.

I used to love going with my grandmother and making memoriesat this ice cream shop. Now as a mother I’ve tried to do the same but recently was shocked by how rude the staff was. It might just be the generation now a days or that these kids aren’t taught proper manners. Sadly after the last few times of the servers/children as we should say were rude I will not be trying to make more memories with my own children there and instead just remember how great the place used to be when my grandmother would take me.
