From our waitress, the wait and the food I gave it 5 stars across the board. There were 4 people in our party and we all gave it 5 stars! Our waitress was friendly, the place was clean, minimum wait time for food and the food was so good! I ordered the Ruben sandwich & seasoned fries and it was the BEST Ruben sandwich I have ever had! My sons had the catfish and a triple cheeseburger and they to had NO complaints!!
I live in Walnut Ridge and Dairy King in Portia has now become my new favorite place to eat!!! Highly recommend!!
Note: My wife eats here occasionally and told me the food and service are normally better.
Server seemed friendly enough, but had trouble keeping track of the order. The wait was not overly long, but not short. We got our drinks quickly, but then it seemed like if you didn’t ration your drink it would go empty and stay that way.
I tried a few things after seeing the Arkansas Food Hall of Fame awards on the wall. I wish I’d have ordered less.
The cheese sticks (breaded) were OK. Nothing special, but decent. Comes with marinara or ranch for dipping.
I tried both the “seasoned” (curly) and regular (crinkle cut) fries. Unfortunately despite the large amount of fish being cooked, the fries didn’t taste slightly fishy (which some might prefer).
The chicken strips are interesting. It’s like they were tenderized with a mallet then fried. It makes them crispy on the outside and perfectly tender on the inside. Unfortunately, I couldn’t taste any interesting seasonings in the breading.
I of course ordered the Reuben. The cheese is decent, the meat is shaved or shredded and is amazing. Unfortunately I prefer lots of strong sauerkraut (which to me is a key ingredient in a Reuben) and I could not even taste the sauerkraut. There may have been some kind of sauce or dressing on it as well since the whole sandwich tasted creamy.
My sister ordered a Large Onion Ring for the table to split. They were pretty good. I’m not a huge onion ring fan, but I enjoyed the one I ate. Crispy and…. onion-ey.
My sister also purchased an armload of fried/hand pies at the register. She said they are really good and the cashier said they sell a ton of them, so if that’s your thing go ahead and try em.
They do serve Malt’s here (chocolate, vanilla, banana, caramel, etc.). I didn’t have one, but if I did I’d probably have given this place a better rating.
The staff were wonderful, I could not have asked for nicer service! And an incredibly generous stranger paid for our meal, I still can’t believe that happened. I’m from out of state and Arkansas has continuously shown itself to be the friendliest place I have ever visited, definitely check out Dairy King if you can!
