This is truly a hidden gem, one of the BEST and FRESHEST Sashimi I have ever eaten. Look at my photo of sashimi don, it is only 3,000 JPY . The lady owner is very nice and she seems to be very enthusiastic speaking to us in English. Will come back here again when I see Hakone during Spring!

We were the first group of customers of the restaurant, welcomed by a friendly owner. The food, the tea and the warm sake were great and satisfying, and a plate of fruits served free before we left was a pleasant touch, of which I tasted the best persimmons I have had in Japan in 5 or 6 trips

Wait was a bit long but worth it

All I can say is good good and good. The seafood is so fresh and super delicious. They might open a little bit late from their opening time. Restaurant is just 4 minutes walk to ride the pirate ship. Near Hakone checkpoint as well.

I visit Hakone several times a week for work, and I usually have lunch here. The sashimi and seafood bowls, made with fresh seafood the owner buys every morning at the Odawara Fish Market, are absolutely delicious. Prices are reasonable, portions are generous, and the staff are all very friendly. It’s just a short walk from Hakone-machi-ko Port, where the pirate ship docks. For those who don’t eat raw fish, there are options like kara-age set meals (Japanese fried chicken), tempura shrimp set meals and grilled salmon set meals. Even if you can’t eat all those menu, they also have udon on the menu.

Exceptional little place up the road from the dock. Beautiful sushi. Lovely welcoming staff.
The best thing is that they provided gluten free soy sauce which was really thoughtful.
Feels like a really traditional family/small business.

Stumbled upon this restaurant after walking around the area and walked in starving. It’s a small and quaint looking restaurant that seems to be family owned. The ladies were all sweet and nice to us foreigners. Since we barely spoke any Japanese, one lady was able to speak to us in English as best as she can and recommended some suggestions on the menu.

I forgot what I ordered but my mom ordered their Tempura Udon and I wanted sashimi. She really loved the shrimp and said It tasted fresh. After we ate, one of the ladies who happened to be the owner talked to us for a bit and shared that the shrimp my mom really enjoyed was bought at the market that morning at 4am! Definitely too early for me to go shopping for food but I guess that’s what needs to be done for this restaurant to have fresh seafood. She even gave us directions on how to take the bus to the next area of our trip. Overall, a great place to eat and wind down while eating seafood.

Everything was so delicious!! We got a lake set that had all seasonal ingredients and included a chirashi, a tempura course of fish caught in the lake, tofu, seasonal vegetables, aka miso soup, Then we also got a tororo (grated local mountain yam with tuna) don. The tororo was super fluffy and sweet (even more so then if you have it in Tokyo) and I highly recommend it if you dont mind a slightly slimmy texture.

Looked for a place to eat when planning our itinerary for Hakone. Just a few steps away from Hakone checkpoint, this place is less crowded compared to the other restaurants that are closer to tour destinations.

This is what we imagine a traditional Japanese lunch would look like. Everything tastes great! Staff are friendly and even gave free fruits for dessert.

Came here on a snowy hakone day with wife and my father in law. We were driving through and went here for lunch. Food was delicious, and sashimi on the kaisendon was very fresh and yummy, as was the eel. Overall a nice big set and pleasant quiet atmosphere, but seems like a popular spot as many people came despite the mucky wet and snowy weather.
