The sushi portions were extremely generous and tasty. My first time here and I ordered a Chirashi Bowl. There were multiple sashimi types on the bowl and each slice was the same size as the sushi. The bowl was just large enough to leave enough room for additional orders. Customer service was quick and staff were friendly. With a group of seven, the seats were comfortable and quick. Everybody ordered enough at a reasonable price. Highly recommend to anybody who wants a filling sushi menu and will definitely be coming back again.

We were sat at a table quickly. The atmosphere is calm and the food was tasty. Here is a picture of the shrimp tempura roll. It was reasonably priced. They have a special on Wednesday for buy a special roll and get 1 for 50% off.

Came here for lunch today and ordered a chirashi bowl and a special roll. The special roll was 50% off the second fish on Wednesdays, which was very affordable. The fish was fresh and the roll was delicious. I will come back next time!

If you’re into high-stakes dining and enjoy playing sushi roulette, Daiki Sushi in Monterey Park might be the thrill you’re looking for. Unfortunately, I wasn’t.

I placed an Uber Eats order and went in to pick it up. I stood there for 10 full minutes — no greeting, no eye contact, no acknowledgment. It started to feel like I had become a ghost. Eventually, I had to flag someone down like I was trying to catch a taxi in the ’90s. When they finally handed over my food, they did so with the energy of someone doing me a personal favor, not, you know, the bare minimum.

Then came the real treat: the sushi. All of the raw fish was slightly warm to the touch — not “freshly prepped” warm, but “left out in a room with no A/C for who-knows-how-long” warm. Sushi should not feel like it’s been tanning.

The spicy tuna? Didn’t taste like fish. Looked like it had been dyed with Red 40 and shame. I took one nibble and threw it out before my immune system had time to stage a protest.

And the regular tuna (or maybe it’s albacore)? Thin, sad, and oddly gelatinous. It resembled a fruit roll up more than fish.

Here’s the part I can’t wrap my head around: How has this place not been shut down? Where are these positive reviews coming from? Are we eating at the same place, or is there a secret Daiki Sushi in a parallel universe serving actual sushi?

Daiki — I don’t need you to roll out the red carpet, but cold fish, basic courtesy, and not giving your customers salmonella vibes would be a great start.

The food is very fresh and there are specials every week. My favorite is the salmon special on Monday, which is $1 a piece. On Sundays, there is also beer for $1 a glass, with specials on tuna and toro, which is very good!

Delicious – came here for a weeknight dinner and everything was very good. Very affordable prices. Flavors were very similar to a restaurant we frequented but sadly closed down – Hanashima. So happy to have found a restaurant with a familiar taste.

Discovered a hidden gem in Monterey Park!

They offer daily specials and the staff are super friendly. The fish is incredibly fresh (especially Tuna & Salmon) definitely a highlight.

One quirky thing: they don’t use cucumber in any of their rolls, and most rolls come with imitation crab and avocado. Personally, I love avocado, so no complaints there

If you’re into tuna and salmon rolls, this place is a must-visit!

My family and I go here every week, they have specials from Mon-Thursday and Sunday. They also have a lunch and dinner special to choose 2 rolls from their regular roll menu for “$9.99” (lunch) and “10.99” (dinner). The staff here are really sweet, respectful, and welcoming. Overall, it’s a great little restaurant with some killer deals! Even $1 beers on Sundays! I mean, you can’t beat that anywhere you go!
