$15 dollars for this plate is crazy. I spent $50 dollars on two entrees and a large soup. This is like leftovers I would take home from Daitung in mission. Dissatisfied.
Reply : I’ve paid $10 at the Daitung in mission and still would take home left overs. My point is it’s still a little amount for the price a person would pay. The meifun was a fantastic amount of food, for the same price as the General tso they both were $14.95. Daitung in mission would also give the general tso chicken in a seperate container which had way more chicken for $8-$9. I definitely got the great portion of meifun for the price and that’s because it was beef.

My wife and I ate here for lunch and it was extremely delicious!! The food was very tasty and flavorful and the lunch prices very good! Lunch came with entree, rice, egg roll and soup for under $10. We will definitely be coming back!! The service was also amazing! Very attentive and helpful explaining the menu! Highly recommend!! I personally love Chinese food and travel quite often trying other Chinese food and this is top of list!! Atmosphere was nice as it has the classic Chinese restaurant vibe as well!! We got the Hunan chicken and shrimp and the chicken black bean sauce (both amazing!)

I’ve been coming here for years and the food never disappoints, it is a well kept and clean restaurant. The portion sizes are extremely generous and the prices seem very fair. I always get the Korean seafood noodle soup and it has become one of my favorites. The soup base is spicy but also extremely delicious and the seafood is always cooked well . The staff is extremely nice and kind, they check up on you often enough and they are quite fast so the wait time isn’t very long . The environment is very comforting and the restaurant itself is a very nice place I always like how calm it is, even when the restaurant is completely full the servers take their time with each table and treat everyone well.

Just today, a co worker found a roach in his drink. When he told the cashier, the cashier just asked him if he wanted to add a tip on his card. No apologies, no shame.
A second co worker who was sitting at a different table, found a piece of plastic in the vegetable dish. He didn’t get charged for that meal, but still.

Well, this happened at the Dai Tung on Nolana in McAllen. I ordered this on Sunday and didn’t notice these little guys until all the food was gone! I remember this happened at the Dai Tung in Mission and now it’s happened here. I loved going to the McAllen location because I thought the food quality was better than the other location. Won’t be going back for sure. I spoke to one manager but nothing came out of it; they asked for the pictures but nothing was done. I called this morning to speak to the manager and they said he was working and was “busy”. I said I’d call in 20 min. Decided to go in person and the manager I spoke to was not there. The woman who we spoke to admitted that sometimes the produce can have worms and it ends up in the food. First she said that she would give us a credit for next time; we refused since obviously we are not going to come back. Then she only wanted to refund for one plate; the worms were in all the food! We ordered beef broccoli, shrimp and veggie noodles, two orders of eggrolls, soup, orange chicken and general tso chicken. They refuse to give us a refund for the $80 bucks we spent for worms to be included in our food! In a time where everyone is experiencing financial strain to just exist, the kind/easy thing to do was give us a full refund. They have lost us, our family and friends as customers. For sure will call the health inspector, local new stations, and we will make this as public as possible!

This is my favorite Chinese food restaurant. Every time we visit, the food is phenomenal. I’ve never been disappointed. The staff is friendly and attentive as well. Highly recommended.

My wife and I love Dai Tung, we usually go to the one in Mission since we have had some mishaps in the past here. We ordered take out, and I found a hair in my plate. I called to let them know and they offered to replace the meal. I told them I didn’t want it replaced today because I lost my appetite, and I just wanted a refund for my plate. He said I needed to take the food back in order to get a refund, but I didn’t want to take it because it’s inconvenient for me to go all the way back. I asked if I could get a refund for the whole meal if I took it all back since all the food was going to be cold and for having to take the plate back for proof and they got upset. They insisted they needed to see the hair so I sent them a pic and the conversation is below in the picture.
Terrible customer service. If you plan to do take out make sure to check the plates there or be prepared to prove their lack of cleanliness by returning the plate.
We certainly will not be returning or ordering taking out from here.

First time trying Dai Tung. Not even half way in & there was a bug in my rice! Ended up throwing away all the food $50 dollar down the drain. I was not gonna risk it! So disappointing after hearing good things about this place.

I was invited to Dai Tung Chinese restaurant for lunch by a good friend. The restaurant is located on Nolana and 6th Street in the Nolana Tower plaza. It has been around for many years in the same location, where many businesses have come and gone. The interior is pretty much the same as it has been from the last time I went, some 15 years ago. The menu carries the same distinction of not having changed much over the years. The food lacks the modern wow factor that we are always looking for but it’s not bad either. I had chicken with mushrooms and my friend had beef and broccoli. I also ordered egg rolls to go with my meal. Honestly, not alot of intense flavor with all bordering on bland, especially the fried rice. The portions are large and well worth the price. I would go again just to try some of the options that caught my eye and order steamed rice instead.
