This place was probably top 3 on our 9000 mile road trip. Don’t let the outside fool you….. great service,food,live entertainment and the people were friendly in a relaxed atmosphere. We didn’t make a reservation because we doubted the place was even open. They had every table reserved and still sat us down for an awesome meal. It’s a must stop place if youre headed to the Tetons/south entrance to Yellowstone.

Our meal was enjoyable, but our group was quite disappointed by the portion sizes when our plates were served. We all ordered steaks, and while they were flavorful, the size of the steaks was not what we anticipated. Each of us received only four baby carrots and four potato wedges. On one plate, a generous amount of rice ( two heaping cups) was used to fill the space, but the other plates appeared rather sparse. The cost of the meal, considering the portions received, was quite disheartening.
Our waiter was not very good, never told us the special, we had to get up a few times to find her or something else for silverware, napkins.

We’re from SoCal and for the past four years, every time we’ve passed through Thayne, we have visited Dad’s Bar & Steakhouse. We have been to pretty much every restaurant between here & Afton, and it is, without a doubt, the best restaurant with the best food—no competition. Period. The staff are always friendly and very helpful; the salad bar is incredibly fresh (and very clean); the portions are massive considering the price, and the steaks are phenomenal. Always cooked perfectly and super delicious. You can choose to eat in the “steakhouse” which is a smaller room with several tables and the salad bar, or you can choose to eat in the bar area which is a bigger room with more tables, a bar (obviously), and a stage for live music. We’ve dined in both areas. The live music is always really great. We really enjoy Dad’s and will continue to visit when stopping through.

This was one of our main reasons for coming to Thayne it was owned by my great grandfather Alf Walton who married my great Grandmother they met because she sang in the bar! My aunt Pat had told me about it! New owners are amazing! They still have old pictures and original sign from when my great GPA owned it! The food and service were second to none!

The steaks are hands down the best I have eaten in 3 years!!!! There is a bar in the front and sit down restaurant in the back.

Oh wow! Wish we found Dads sooner. Excellent staff, incredible food, or was it the other way around? Doesnt matter, all excellent. And yup, you betcha the spinach artichoke dip is worth it,and a meal on itself. We opted to sit in the bar area. Were given the choice of bar or steakhouse menu. We chose bar. The Lil Buddy was excellent. I am stuffed. Reasonable alcohol prices too. Didnt stay to dance, but looked like a great place too.

Got there Early, Jase (Bartender) said your Welcome to sit and have a Cocktail until we Serve Dinner. Hostess was Very Polite when I asked for a Table, Waitress was exceptionally Friendly and Helpful with the Dinner Choices.
We Both chose the Seafood My Wife the Scallops, Myself the Oysters, Being from New England we were amazed at the Quality. The Kitchen is about 150 sq ft. The 3 People in there were a fine Operating Machine. Absolutely the Best Meal we have had in the “Jackson Area” in the last 40 Years. Very Comfortable. We will Return .
