I came down to visit Daddy’s Noodle Bar while I was out of town at UConn. I had heard about this place when I was looking for a ramen place a few weeks prior, so I was excited to try something new. Overall it was pretty good!! If you want some fusion Asian noodles and you’re in the area, I’d say give it a try. I had never had vermicelli before and it was tasty! I’m not a big fan of tofu, so I won’t hold it against them that I didn’t really enjoy it.

However, I will mention, I don’t know if it was another connected building, or if it was the heating unit? But there was very loud machinery running 85% of the time I was there. And it’s right at the door too so we couldn’t really hear the host at first!! I hope that was temporary…

The atmosphere is good! I don’t know how to describe it. It definitely feels like a new family business if that makes sense. Overall, unless I’m craving this vermicelli, I don’t think I’ll be driving back specifically for this place since it is a 40 min drive for me. But the food IS good!! I don’t remember what my friend had, I believe he got a beef vermicelli in broth?? He said it’s good.

If you’re in the area looking to experiment, give it a go!!

Feels like the place has gone downhill a bit.
When I got their banh mi last year it was amazing, but this time around it barely had any vegetables (or filling, for that matter). It was a real bummer.
Also, when I went for lunch, they were out of ramen noodles, banh mi sandwiches, fish cakes, and apparently didn’t have any cups for hot tea, so I had to stick with water. The food we got was decent but not really worth the price. The papaya salad and fried chicken were delicious, but the pho and soup were a little disappointing. Not enough broth and a disproportionate mountain of noodles. One bowl was missing some toppings as well. It’s a little ironic we enjoyed everything BUT the noodles at Daddy’s Noodle Bar.
Also not the cleanest place. The plates still had a bit of grime on them, and the toilet had stains all over the seat.

If it was a little cheaper I’d definitely go again, but for now it’s leaving a lot to be desired.

Bowls are huge with some kind of crunchy free vegetable appetizer for starters. There’s sriracha sauce sitting on the counters if you would like a bit more kick. Prices could be lower a bit I feel.

Very good noodle bar. I had the spicy daddy noodles and really enjoyed them. Got the noodles served with a side dish of spicy chili which really helped up the heat! The crab Rangoon was only ok, but my kids liked them (fried anything is right in their wheelhouse). I got a boba tea that was served with a skinny straw that immediately clogged. No desserts were available. The place is very small.

The food tasted great. I had summer rolls, egg rolls, and vegetable pho. 5 stars for the quality of the food but I had some tiny bugs that hide on vegetables on the Pho. Not a great experience for someone who ordered vegetarian food. Washing vegetables properly will solve that. Also, they can improve the cleanliness of the restroom.

The only noodle bar on my campus that does sit-in. Open every day (in Storrs) and always ready to serve. The employees are super nice and welcoming to those who come. I have never had an order go wrong or taste bad or off. Presentation is part of it too, one that they definitely don’t skip out on either. Every meal was belly food, and eye food. Smell was amazing and the quality of products is immaculate. I cannot recommend this bar enough, as long as you have money in your wallet and an empty stomach. 10/10

This was some very solid food. It was a cold day so I decided to go and I am very pleased with my decision. Daddy’s noodles were fabulous. The Vietnamese coffee was also scrumptious. These are good noodles.

It’s just ok. I have eaten at a lot of ramen joints and so I might be a bit of a food snob but there was no wow factor about the food I tried. Not enough veggies, broth could have been more flavorful, the egg was hard boiled, meat was kind of tough. I got a small glass of water and it was not refilled until I asked at the end of dinner nearly an hour later. There are only 6 tables but they are small and are put together so there are only 3 tables, lots of bar space though. Good crab Rangoon.

Fantastic ramen, rivals the best places in Boston, incredible customer service and traditional menu, great options especially on a cold day. Can’t recommend enough!

Pho was great. The spicy daddy ramen broth was great, vegetable was great, ramen noodles were a little overcooked so it didn’t have any bounce, the pork was the weakest link in the ramen, lean, dry, and had that off pork taste, but the cuts that had some fat was great but very few. Overall, go for the pho here. It seems to be their strength.
