Social Profile:

Daddy Mac’s is our modern take on Southern hospitality. Our menu is deeply rooted in the recipes of owner Dave McFarland’s grandparents, so we like to say Daddy Mac’s is steeped in family tradition and pickle juice. Everything is made from scratch, including the smoked meats on our Bar-B-Cue-Terie Boards, unique mac’n’cheese dishes, sandwiches, sliders, and our fun, shareable appetizers. We serve local, craft beers including some you won’t find anywhere else, as well as the latest cocktails. There is live music on Friday nights, plus, with 24 tv’s, we’re the perfect place to catch your favorite game. Ask about our event space for small groups. We can’t wait to welcome you home to Daddy Mac’s!

Smoked meats & mac ‘n’ cheese skillets, plus cocktails & craft beer in a rustic-chic space.

1st time here! It did not disappoint!!! Kelly R was my waitress super fun, down to earth with a laugh n smile so infectious it completely warmed my heart! I was here celebrating my birthday kickoff. The food was incredible. I had the brisket cheeseburger, smoked potato salad & banana pudding. It was so yummy with amazing flavor! You could smell the smoked barbecue from the parking lot & as you hit the front door! The vibe here super chill & a great place to watch sports! I can’t wait to come back! Great friendly staff made it a wonderful experience!!

On a quick weekend trip to Ashville and we landed at the airport pretty late. We saw Daddy Mac’s was close by and it had great reviews! We went on Halloween and it was so fun! Very festive with music and costumes but was still easy to relax, talk, and have a great meal. We got so much food and really wanted to get more to try out cause the whole menu looked awesome. Prices were much less here than back home so we were pleasantly surprised to see the check considering everything we had ordered. Service was on point too! Really glad this was our first stop in Asheville! Thanks!

We stopped in at Daddy Mac’s Down Home Dive while passing through Asheville on our way to vacation and had been really excited to try it after planning the stop ahead of time. Unfortunately, the experience started off a bit uncomfortable. When we walked in, we were met with a group of employees laughing about us entering through the wrong door, and one interaction in particular felt a little mocking, which set an awkward tone right out of the gate.

Thankfully, our server completely turned things around. He was welcoming, knowledgeable, and went out of his way to make great recommendations and take care of us. His service truly made the difference. The food itself was enjoyable, and despite the rough start, we left appreciating the meal and the effort our waiter put in. My only recommendation would be to not let the employees hang out at the tables talking about the customers while there are other customers in the store!

In town and this spot is just down the street from our hotel. Stopped in late after a long 10 hour drive and let me tell you their late night menu was pleasantly impressive. Our server was awesome and she recommended the right things. We tried the pimento and collard greens dip, he got the macho nachos and i got a build your own salad in a jar. The pulled pork here is AMAZING. This was the first time in a long time that i actually had to get a box for a salad and the price point is perfect and affordable, with enormous portions. We checked out their regular menu just out of curiosity and this is definitely a spot we will earmark for future visits and may even come back tomorrow. 15/10. HIGHLY recommended! And as an added bonus their hours are super compatible with those of us rogues looking for dinner past 9pm.

Not sure who crafted the recipe for the burnt ends mac and cheese but they deserve all the flowers!! It is soooo good! My dish came out hot, the mac was creamy and the burnt ends were tender and juicy! The chicken nachos were also really good. We had no complaints about service. We were seated promptly and checked on sufficiently. ANYTIME I’m in Asheville, I’ll definitely be back!

The food was very good and we enjoyed our meal. However, we had a small issue with the greeting at the entrance. The host at the door was not very welcoming or friendly, which affected our first impression. When visiting a restaurant, a warm and polite greeting makes a big difference. With better hospitality at the entrance, the overall experience would be much better.

We ordered the Mama Mac Board- it’s plenty of food for two people. The wings, brisket, and pulled pork were all great. It’s a cool way to sample lots of the menu. The baked beans are a little spicy for sensitive palates. We also had the pretzel with Hot Honey Mustard which is not at all spicy but very good and you can definitely taste the beer in the beer cheese. We added a side of mac & cheese, which was pretty basic. Service was friendly and attentive!

We were visiting Biltmore and in the area. The vibe of this place, outside and inside was awesome! There is a stage for bands, string lights, and cool artwork. The atmosphere was great. Unfortunately, the service and food were not. While our server was extremely nice, she was not very attentive. She never refilled mine or my aunt’s drinks, while she did fill the other 3 people drinks. My tots were crunchy but cold. My brother’s soup was ice cold. We had to ask twice for a spoon for the soup. His grilled cheese was hard. (I also find it odd that we were given salt and pepper packs at a sit down restaurant instead of shakers)

However, the pretzel appetizer, my aunt’s salad, and my curly fries were very hot and good.

Overall, I am thinking we were there just on an “off” day because all the good reviews are the reason we choose this establishment over others. I don’t know that we’ll be back in the area to give it another chance.

We settled on dinner at Daddy Mac’s Down Home Dive based on the recommendations of a hotel staff member during a vacation to Asheville, and it turned out to be one of the biggest surprises of the entire trip. This is not your typical sports pub. The atmosphere is there, and the staff are very friendly, offering prompt and attentive service, but that’s where the similarities to other sports pubs ends, because what makes Daddy Mac’s stand above the rest is the cuisine.
Their menu creates a fusion of traditional pub food and Carolina BBQ, and spins that marriage on its head. The food was so good during our first visit that we went back the very next night, foregoing plans to another white tablecloth establishment. The wings and sauces are better than any run of the mill chicken wing joint. Large, juicy, not over or undercooked, and the Chinese Chicken and Cheerwine sauces are the standouts. The smash burger sliders are also perfectly cooked, and would stand up to any slider or smash burger out there, and amazingly might be the least good thing on the menu.
The namesake dish, mac and cheese, specifically the burnt ends mac with pimento cheese, is a must. Despite all of those highlights, and regardless of your typical pub food choices, if you eat pork, you must sample the pulled pork and gouda grilled cheese. Head and shoulders the best thing on the menu, and the thing we will order upon every visit. Yes the food is heavy, and yes the food can be greasy, but in all the best ways possible. You will leave full and happy.

In town for a visit with our University girl. We were seated as we arrived and our waitress was fabulous. She gave suggestions for our meals and ensured we had anything we needed. There were plenty of screens to enjoy any game desired and the meals were served up hot and in a good amount of time. We all enjoyed our meal together and will be back to try out other dishes. As noted in other reviews the parking is limited so be patient when searching for a spot.
