The Dack Shack is a nice restaurant less than a mile from Lake Placid Main Street. The food and service were excellent. Plenty of parking and no wait to get seated. Menu has plenty of options for people of varied taste.

Friendly little place. Cool walk up window to order food if you are on the patio with your dog. Poutine was good. Uses melted cheese instead of curds but still delish. Caprese handheld was also great.

I’ve been the at least 4 times and I love it! Real French fries made from scratch, not from a sysco truck! Real hand battered fish not frozen stuff. The deli is top notch too. Highly recommend!

Great option for casual lunch or dinner. good tasting burgers and I’d go back for the hot dog topped with beans and crunchy fried onions. (They should offer an option for 2 – hot dog a bit on the small side). Comfortable and friendly staff. Fair prices.

First of all, our server was great. That is where the positives end. The food was not very good, the atmosphere was horrible – ceiling dripping into bucket near us. We were seated in a very drafty, overly lit, cramped area. We regretted not leaving the minute we walked into this run down place. Plus, they forgot to charge us for a dessert and then tapped into my credit card the next day… not sure that’s even legal. Stay away from this place.

Great little restaurant / pub with tasty food and good service. Absolutely loved the wild mushroom faro dish I got. My son’s chicken tenders and fries were much better than average. He also loved his s’mores shake. The servers were very nice and prompt. The place is clean and nicely decorated. They have craft beers on tap and plenty more to choose from bottled. Not much wine. Looks like they have at least one bar with full liquor. If I lived in the area, I’d frequent this place.

Came in for a burger and fries and left disappointed. I ordered a basic burger with cheddar cheese and the “shack sauce”. The burger was well done when ordered medium, and the food was decent but the sauce and cheese were each a $2 upcharge, which was not mentioned by the waitress. The sauce was basically just mayonnaise, which shouldn’t be a $2 upcharge. The waitress, Rachael, was unprofessional and rude and did not apologize at all. Overall paid $22 for a cheeseburger with fries, which is ridiculous.

In the age where everything revolves around chains. Dack Shack reminds us that a classic un-smashed burger is still unmatched.
It is quaint sports bar. There are TV’s on the wall, music and some memorabilia mixed in with the other fun decorations. We ordered burgers, fried calamari and the prime rib french dip. All were done to perfection! The lightening is a bit low so none of my pics came out….

Would definitely recommend their burgers! The blackened salmon was also pretty good
Their servers are amazing, friendly and sweet! They were kind enough to let us know what their specialty is. The patty was juicy and savory.

We picked this place last minute so our expectations were very low. The food was great and so was the service. We did not have our pup with us but I was very pleased to see a doggie menu.
