It was our first visit tonight. I wish I would have remembered to take a picture of the peach cobbler cornbread dessert! It was amazing!! They were pretty busy so service was a little slow but the drinks and Musical atmosphere was worth it!

We loved Dabney & Co! The cocktails were spot on, my favorite was the RESPECT. The playlist was perfect. The food was delicious. The staff was professional and friendly. Top notch team! We sat in the bar area. The vibe was intimate and cozy. Nice place to spend a bitterly cold evening.

We really enjoy Dabney & Co. The drinks are great, knowledgeable staff, and overall great vibes. I don’t remember it being a thing the first time we went, but last night when the bill came, it threw me off as the tip options were 3, 5, and 7% which should’ve triggered me to see if there was an added fee. I just thought they were being honorable and acting like you didn’t need to tip that much here. I clicked other and tipped my normal 20%. My wife thought it was weird also so she had it send her a receipt and sure enough there was a 20% service charge. Waiter never mentioned it and seemed to scurry away quickly when I signed the device and we started discussing it. That turned me off as it felt scammish to be honest. I have no problem with the fee, but it needs to be upfront and disclosed. I respect that if a business notices many patrons not tipping or not tipping appropriately for a reasonable quality of service, then by all means protect your employees with the fee. But it seriously needs to be disclosed otherwise folks that miss it feel taken advantage of when they find out. As I went to write this review I noticed others mentioning the fee seeming sneaky, so I can’t help but think it may be discouraging customers. Honesty is best and respectable. Will be back because it’s great and Im thankful to have Dabney downtown, but I’m hoping that next time some training had occurred and the fee is disclosed when the bill is delivered. Cheers!

The atmosphere is aesthetically pleasing, the food and drinks were absolutely delicious, and there was a live singer that really set the vibe for the night. What truly made the experience exceptional, though, was our server, Marie. She mentioned it was only her second time serving there, but you would never know it. She was warm, engaging, and an absolute pro. Her drink recommendations were spot on, and her energy made the whole experience even better. Outstanding service all around. Highly recommend!

We’ve been going to Dabney since it opened and it’s always been a stellar experience – very grateful for live music (especially jazz!) in Kalamazoo. The staff are attentive and the owner lovely. Food is top notch and drinks are good. The vibes are really the best part of Dabney’s – fun music, low lighting, historic setting, etc. Definitely a gem.

Dabney is a unique cocktail experience, one Kalamazoo certainly needs. The prices are very reasonable for the initemate setting. When sitting at the bar we enjoy watching the various drinks being created. We have been seated in the main room a half dozen or so times enjoying the entertainment, which is always top notch. The only critique I have is there should be a spotlight on the main performer. The backup band is lit by the ceiling lights but the singer or musician out front performs in the dark. This should not be too hard to correct and would provide a better experience for the customer.

This place is definitely a vibe! A speakeasy vibe at that! My fiancée and I went there for a date night… the food and drinks were great. We also recently had our engagement photos taken there. The owners were so accommodating and made that experience really special. Will definitely be back in there soon!
