Outstanding, in every respect.
First visit and first time we have had a family meal in Newcastle without having to avoid the oil which normally accompaines the curry, naan and poppadoms.
Everything and I mean everything was cooked to perfection.
The signature salad was a great surprise with a wonderful balance of heat, flavours and spice.
Two of us had the main meals and two had three small plates and a side.
The servings were generous and all tasted as they should.
We highly recommend and will be back.
From the location and first impressions down the back street you would never stumble across this place by accident. Go check it out the interior and staff are top drawer.

We went to Dabbawal for Sunday lunch and another time for dinner through the week. On both occasions the food was excellent and the service impeccable.
The Sunday lunch compares to no other, with a creative Indian style revisited roast. I also loved the mango salad as a starter.
The early dinner offers quality affordable food. Special mention to the smoked broccoli and the Malabari prawns. You don’t leave here starving

Visited for the first time as a family, 15 of us and the service was perfectly smooth from start to finish. Food was incredible and the staff were lovely – especially good with the kids! Definitely going to return. Highly recommend to anyone!

Absolutely gorgeous food and service, on our second visit tonight we were remembered by one of the servers Malarika, who remembered me and my mam from our first visit (we were very indecisive of the menu and she had a lot of patience). She made us feel extremely welcome and was attentive to our table the whole night. Malarika is such a down to earth, helpful , friendly person and is an asset to the restaurant , coming back again tonight she made the experience so much more special. Happened upon this gorgeous restaurant by accident when a the cafe we wanted to visit was closed…and the food is the best I’ve had in years. Ate myself silly and would absolutely come back again if I lived any closer! Excellent for gluten free and some of the best choice I’ve had in a long time. I had the Dhansak and couldn’t help but get a side of fish fritters. Even the poppadoms were gluten free!
