Da Richard Pickle, Fat Mac, 3 meat chili on special knocked our slippa’s off! Wow, this food has so much fun FLAVOR I don’t know where to begin or end. All I’m gonna say is we are getting this for our flight home.

Da Whip Sandos is set truly off the beaten path in industrial area. It’s upstairs with amazing ocean and sunset view.
It does have an elevator thankfully for my hubby’s worn out knees to use.

At the time of writing this they didn’t have the bar but no biggie we took them back to our lanai and made our drinks.

Personal note…
As we were waiting for our food to go just before closing, a couple of very rude (maybe just hangry) male tourists came in and scuffled about how long the 15-25min wait would be to get their food. As we left they were standing in the parking lot searching for other places (of which we knew that most venues were taking last call) yes, we giggled to ourselves and said as be drove by “man… patience is everything and boy did ya miss out!”

On the flight out we grabbed the No 11 Happy Ending bowl and absolutely perfect amount of spice, a very gentle sweet heat. Can’t wait to return!

Vegan options near Costco!

Welcoming staff, funky, open-air place. Nice views too! We ordered the Blast Unicorn (sandwich on sourdough with Mac nut cheese), the 50 Shades of Yum (mushroom meat, Mac nut cheese and salsa on a French roll), and the Hot Asian salad with unicorn meat (they’re signature mushroom meat). Everything was great. If we order the Hot Asian salad again, we would not add the unicorn meat because the salad is delicious without it. Sandwiches were $15-$16 and the salad was $8.50

Amazing sandwiches! You can tell the chef knows how to combine fabulous flavors with fresh ingredients and homemade sauces! We had the Dip Sticks to start and the Long Sean sandwiches. It was so tasty! Prices are very fair, the service was friendly, and we cannot wait to go again.

They are waiting on a liquor license, but until then you can BYOB or enjoy their non-alcoholic drunk options.

We had an awesome experience with Da Whip and couldn’t recommend them more! We ordered a large to-go order for a group of volunteers working on our cacao farm during harvest day at Ocean Grace Farms, and everyone loved the Whip.

The food was fresh, flavorful, and traveled really well — which is huge when you’re feeding a hungry crew after a long day of farm work. Truly great grinds and such a welcome addition to the Kailua Kona restaurant scene.

If you’re looking for a go-to spot for lunch or dinner in Kailua Kona, especially for takeout or feeding a group, Da Whip is a solid choice. Delicious food, easy ordering, and a local vibe we’re stoked to support.

Mahalo to Da Whip for keeping our volunteers happy and well-fed!

Went twice during my visit to the Bl and it was so fun! Enjoyed the fun flavors of the libido tuxedo and the meatball sammy was tasty too!! Thankful it’s a sandwich shop where you’re not just getting ham and cheese but actually some interesting flavor profiles.

The #1 was by far the best thing I ate on the island during my time here and we drove around the entire Island. The music selection is as awesome as the food. I would have eaten here every day to try everything on the menu if I had only found it before my last day here. Definitely going to be the first place I stopped at next time I’m here.

Been here many times and have been so pleased with the quality and tastiness of all their food! To add on top, the staff are very kind. The manager/owner (not sure which one) came up to ask us how our food was, what a lovely touch and hugely appreciated!

Hint: look up the menu ahead, then choose your beverage of choice to pair well with their food!

Happy eats!

Got off the plane and didn’t want airport food. This was our first stop and it was a great choice! Initially seems like an odd place for a restaurant, but once inside, with the balcony open, it was fine. Ignore the Home Depot roof across the street below, and just take in the ocean view instead. Or just enjoy the food! I’d have taken a picture, but my sando was too delicious! Two people could easily split a sandwich and be full (which my two companions did) but my taste buds enjoyed the whole thing. Ono good!

This place is seriously so good. The vibe in the restaurant is fun and it has a garage door that opens to the patio with views of the ocean. The staff is super friendly , attentive and had no problems explaining the menu. The sandwich we got was the Asian persuasion with the dip sticks as sides. The bread was perfectly toasted, the peanut slaw with the hot sauce was bomb. The flavors in the sandwich was incredible. The dip sticks came with a marinara sauce that tasted homemade and it was so good i dipped the kettle chips in it. They use fresh ingredients and no seed oils. They are still waiting on a liquor license so BYOB but honestly the food is so good we just had a soda and water and took in the views. Definitely worth coming to this place.
