Hawaiian comfort food served in a space with a thatched roof sushi bar & tropical interior details.

They exceeded our expectations. When my wife suggested we try it, I wasn’t thrilled since I’m not a sushi fan. We arrived to a be treated by our server who seemed very genuine in her greeting and asking how we were doing. She gave us good recommendations. They were giving out cream cheese ragoons for Halloween which were the best I have ever had. The sweet and sour sauce was amazing. I wanted to try a number of things and settled for the teriyaki chicken bento box. I was not thrilled it came with sushi but still wanted to try the rest. When the food came out, I was impressed how well they laid out the food on the plate. Great presentation. It looked really good. I loved everything on my plate. I went ahead and tried the sushi anyway and I don’t know what they do different than others, but it didn’t have the horrible seaweed aftertaste that I usually experience when having sushi elsewhere. I really enjoyed it. My wife also loved everything she had and she’s a picky eater. The price was good for everything we got. We will gladly take the 70 mile round trip again to return and plan to bring the family. I know my sushi loving daughter will love it.

This is the BEST sushi in all of idaho hands down. There is no other place I go to other than Da Pineapple Grill. Me and my wife always come here on our birthdays and special occasions. If you dont know what to get the Lokahi Roll is an amazing choice. Ever single time we come here we are always seated immediately, if they ever take too long they will apologize and give you a free appetizer to tie you over. Words cannot describe how wonderful this place is. Its very quiet most week nights so its wonderful for date night. They’ve been open for i think 20ish years and they aren’t moving any time soon so I love knowing this place will still be here no matter how much Rexburg changes. Love this place. Hands down my favorite restaurant

Honestly we’re ashamed we never came here soon! It’s an inviting restaurant right next to campus near the roundabout. They have DELICIOUS sushi and burgers as well as other meals. Normally I haven’t been pleased with the grilled salmon anywhere in rexburg, but The pineapple grill goes above and beyond. The mango salmon is fantastic. We’ve had a few of the yummy sushi rolls too and none of it tastes or feels cheap. The sushi rice is better than other places in town as well as the overall quality. Burgers were cooked to perfection with fresh ingredients. We got the tempura banana ice cream too and were not disappointed. Exceeded my expectations. It’s a smidge high on price for college budget BUT you’re actually getting your moneys worth every time. We’ll be coming here a lot more!

I have a warning for everyone coming in a large group. We came here for a birthday party. We split the bill a few different ways between the 3 families. At the end when they took our card they didn’t bring a bill and just asked for our cards. After they ran our cards, our waiter ONLY brought back the slip that asks for a signature and a tip, but did not bring back the slip that shows what we all ordered. I asked for the other slip so I could see everything I was being charged. Some items were incorrect, and they had added a gratuity. I understand perfectly well that a gratuity is custom for a big group, but our waiter thought he’d be clever and only bring the slip that asks for a signature and a tip so you couldn’t see that you already paid a gratuity. Dirty work, and he knows what he was doing. When I asked for the other slip, he ran and got it, and it was already printed.
As far as the food goes, everything was just fine. Service was slow, but it was busy, so being slow was understandable. We were hungry and the hawaiian food was yumm.
We ordered a few sushi rolls and there was a lot going on and the flavors all just sort of mashed together. Wouldnt do those again except for the basic ones.
I’d be hesitant to go here again and I’d make sure to keep the waiter honest.

Good job to the owner and staff of this little gem!
1st time in Rexburg on a tour of BYU Campus before daughter starts hers college life and we were looking for a spot to hang out. This place definitely delivered.
Very pleasant and friendly staff. Location is super close to Campus (then again everything is haha).
Food selection is better than expected for a small town.
When we were told the burger was big, this was not an exaggeration (at first almost didn’t get it since we have a long list of excellent burger places back home in Texas, but so glad we got it! Thing is huge and made with quality beef)
Sushi was decent and would try others. Hawaiian meat dishes were also yummy but chicken was a little cold.
The one thing I’d say can improve is speed. Could be the small town feel or how busy it got and might be understaffed but improving this would make and even better experience next time we come to town.

Love this restaurant and so glad we tried it! Ono grindz for sure! We lived in Hawai’i for 13+ years and this is truly amazing and authentic “local” Hawaiian and Japanese food.
The owners are so nice and put their heart into the business. Everyone who enters the doors are treated like Ohana (family). Even the epic murals on all the walls and in the bathrooms were painted by the owners!
Loved the food! Loved the service! Loved talking story with Auntie Irina! (Sorry if I spelled the name wrong).
We will be back for sure every time we are in town to visit our daughter at BYU-Idaho. We tried the Nu’u sushi roll….SOOO good! Awesome recommendation from the server. Also ordered the Mahi Mahi with veggie tempura, teriyaki chicken, teriyaki beef. Mmmmm good! Too full to try dessert menu so next time.
Expand your culinary horizons people and eat some legit and delicious food from the Islands and the Asian-Pacific Rim!

The tempura was great, the pork buns were fine, but I expected a bit more from the pineapple chicken. I don’t recommend the pineapple chicken, but the pork and barbecue sauce were great and I will be going back for those. Dinner takes awhile, but I have found that the longer the food takes, the higher the quality. Americans are used to frozen prep food so we tend to complain about a bit of wait, not realizing that food made in the kitchen when you order it takes a lot longer.

Now this is amazing food! I don’t like sushi, so I can’t speak to that. The curry, teriyaki chicken, little fried pockets (i have no idea what they are called), fruit salad was amazing!
I really should remove this review so I can keep this place as my secret! But it’s too good to not share!

New updated review after not coming here for around 4 years. We showed up around an hour before closing which probably played to them running out of some food that I originally ordered and we did wait a bit. But they offered a different dish and a discount for the mishap. The food they brought out was very presentable and enjoyable. Hannah B did a wonderful job as our server also she was the only server there working when we came, and she even had to help a party of 10 with some other small groups including us. Very friendly and welcoming. Prices are very respectable for the dine in experience you get and even cheaper than some fast food choices. I personally got the katsu chicken as my replacement and they have sushi options available as well. Would come again.

This place was absolutely amazing. The burger was the best I’ve ever had, and the sushi was delicious. We took forever figuring out what to order because of their incredible selection of delicious-looking foods. The service was outstanding. The ambiance was delightful. The entire experience made me want to come back tomorrow for lunch and then dinner again.
