Ordered some boiled crawfish. Told me it would be ready for 1:15. Got there and they did not have enough to cover the phone orders and I was told it would be another 45 minutes. This place is as badly run as anyplace I have ever seen. Will never go back! Definitely Micky Mouse!

The service and atmosphere was pretty standard. The Burger was HORRIBLE. Genuinely the worst burger I’ve ever eaten, had much better quality from a quarter pounder at McDonald’s. Bread literally crumbled all over my plate it was so dry and the burger was red in the middle but tasted like a hockey puck it was so dry and hard on the outside. The water was the best part of my meal. The other dishes were pretty decent but do not get the burger whatever you do.

We bought Crawfish from the food truck and it was very tasty, well worth stopping and very reasonably priced. The gentleman selling had to show us how to eat them as we were clueless, but he was very patient with us and friendly. Would definitely recommend especially if staying at Fontainebleau State Park nearby.

We stopped here while biking through the Tammany Trace and gorged ourselves on an incredible boiled crawfish feast! It was so delicious, well priced, and perfect for a day out biking, and the people who work here are so kind and friendly. It really feels like an honest, authentic local place. Spent several hours last night friday 5/17/19. When i walked in each and every patron introduced themselves, shook my hand and even followed the hand shake with a warm genuine hug. The only 2 people i knew in the place were the owner George who I’ve known for 40 years and the bartender Hillary who I knew from bar tending at Don’s on the lakefront starting about 1983 or so. The patrons were a mixed crowd racially and were all so friendly that if it was not Louisiana, I’d not have felt their affection to be real. But its Louisiana and being from their, i know exactly how hospitable the citizens are. Especially towards visitors. Now residing in Alabama for 26 years and being gone from Louisiana now for 34 years, I’m a visitor in Louisiana. This joint was comfortable, friendly and most of all fun. Danced with my girl to various classic country selections on the juke box. Drank a frozen white Russian which was perfect. Then Hillary mixed me a margarita that was also of the highest quality. Hillary is certainly a skilled bartender who mixed my deliciously perfect drink as easily and quickly as taking off my shoes. Another words she didn’t even think about it as she prepared it. In fact she never broke conversation during the process. Just second nature to her now after so many decades of experience doing such. To sum my experience up, i loved every second of every minute of the short 3 and a half hours that I was there. Great place great time and its now my only watering hole. Cant wait to visit again soon. Thanks crab trap…it was real and it was so much fun. Love you George and tell your lady friend that she definitely added to the positive experience. She was a hoot. I’ll see y’all again real soon.

Da Crab Trap is the real deal. It’s not a faux bar with reproduction memorabilia on the walls to make it kewl. It’s a straight up dive bar with great staff, great customers, cheap beer, wine, booze. It’s also dog friendly (patio only, leashes & good behavior required). Karaoke on Sunday afternoons. George & Cara are the owners and they have a great crew working there, especially Angelo outside running the seafood trailer.
