If you are searching for some creole eats in the area, look no further! The food is made to order so sit, relax, enjoy the company of the other patrons, and watch time go by. Service was friendly and checked in on us from time to time. I ordered the gumbo, served only on Sundays. It was delicious, the proteins were juicy, the seasoning was well balanced, and the sauce was creamy, rich, and buttery smooth. My wife ordered the shrimp and grits, also only served on Sundays. I tasted them and the grits were some of the best I have eaten, they were creamy, cheesy, and well seasoned. The shrimp were lightly battered, and seasoning were again, well balanced. We finished off with the beigenets. I would have to say they were better than the ones I had at Cafe Du’ Monde. That’s just my opinion. Not over sugared, not oily, they were soft, and fluffy. Everything I consider important in a beigenet. I will come here again, and again when that urge hits for some creole food!

UPDATE: Hubby and I went back to get our complimentary meal and let me just say. THEY SHOWED UP AND SHOWED OUT!!!! The food was fresh, delicious (as usual) and we left fat and happy! I will always continue to support this business. With that said, I’m here picking up oxtails for dinner
So hubby called in an order on 8/8. They only had a few items available to order. Usually the food is very good and portions are worth the price. I ordered the catfish meal and couldn’t even eat all of my food because it was half cooked ( both pieces) so I had to eat around the uncooked portion. Everything else was decent, but I was definitely NOT happy about the fish! Paid money and had to refry it myself

Hands down the best soul food spot in the area. Love the oxtails over rice and gravy, potato salad, greens, catfish, Mac n cheese, chicken wings.. everything was on point. Tastes like someone’s Bigmama or Madea was in the kitchen putting in work! I typically place my order online or call for takeout. Food is always fresh, hot and most importantly consistent. I have never been disappointed. Hats off to the chef!

So there was a food truck festival for valentines that just passed ,mine you I’m pregnant. I had a taste for some fried fish/soul food so I decided to pick them. I was very disappointed because they advertised only cat fish no other fish I didn’t get no cat fish it was cod, it had no seasoning but it was fried right, my dirty rice was good though but was over cooked so it was soggy, my fried wings over cooked with not a lick of seasoning then had the nerve to put salt on them after frying like nobody was go n know the difference I excepted more flavor it was giving very disappointed.

Everything was absolutely delicious! The collard greens were juicy. The mac and cheese and red beans and rice were flavorful. The potato salad was my favorite side. I highly recommend trying the peach apple cobbler it was delectable! They were very welcoming and friendly. My husband and I will become regulars!

I would give zero stars if I could. The food is amazing. The music selection amazing. However, the have several signs posted about customer with complaints are not welcome. So basically they are saying they are perfect and free from mistake. I should have walked out then; However, I wanted to give them a chance. Food came out in a timely manner. Staff is quiet and hardly say anything. We enjoyed our food and conversation. My husband and I did not drink our koolaid because we’re enjoying the food and each other. I ask for a cup to take the koolaid I had already paid for to go home with me. The young man said I will get it for you. He return and gets very quiet to say we cannot have a to go cup. He was basically whispering. I notice you d lady stopped him to say they do not give to go cups. Although, I witness then give a to go cup to the table that was there before we arrived. I love supporting black owned businesses. However, black owned businesses must do better.

Tried this place a few weeks ago and it was amazing!
The we had was very delicious and not rushed, they have a signs that reads “Soul Food isn’t Fast Food” and they are absolutely correct the food they serve is amazing and it you tell they took their time.
My daughter order the smothered pork chops with gravy over rice and it was out of this world. Her sides were hush puppies which were very moist and not dense like other places. I’m not a Mac and cheese guy but theirs is very good.
I had the oxtail over rice as you can see in the picture with collard greens, fried okra, and a dinner roll. The meat on the oxtail was fall of the bone and you never had oxtail give it a try it’s very similar to pot roast taste and feel.
I returned a few days after this visit and tried some other items. They sell out quick so try to phone in or get there early.
Both the owners are veterans just like myself so I’m glad they have a great restaurant that I can support while getting wonderful food… this place is definitely a must try!

The only thing that kept it from being as good as mom’s cooking at home is that I couldn’t go back and get seconds But it’s so good you’re going to want seconds!

I just discovered this restaurant today and had to give it a shot. I ordered two meals and both were delicious. The cat fish was great. The mac & cheese was very good. But my favorite, the OX tails, were Perfection! Looking forward to get the OX tails again, and trying some other menu items.

My Hubby surprised me for my birthday with a trip to San Diego. I was looking for some comfort food and man did I find it here at Da Big Easy Bayou! Everything was amazing and tasteful. The Customer Service was great the whole team made you feel welcomed like family and they even called the customers by name like they new them forever. Definitely a 10/10 from me.
