Unbeknownst to me that I would walk into this little coffee shop and order the best cappuccino of my life. (I’m 62 yo) I normally just drink coffee with cream and sugar so this was new for me! It was beautiful and tasted ABSOLUTELY AMAZING with NO SUGAR!!! I proceeded to try cappuccinos wherever I traveled and then to purchase my own espresso machine and for the life of me cannot find nor recreate anything close to what I received that day in this little coffee shop. Had I realized how special that coffee really was I would have been much more grateful in person!! Thank you so much, D Squared Java, for such a memorable cappuccino experience!!!

A friend and I tried this place for the first time today. I ordered a mocha with whipped cream, and was told that they only make whipped cream in the winter. This confused me since it’s still very much winter. So, I did that dumb thing where you repeat what someone says, but in the form of a question—“You only make whipped cream in the winter?” (With a befuddled look on my face.) Her response, while obviously annoyed with my presence, was: “We only make whipped cream in December.” I held out hope, even still, only to be extremely disappointed by a mocha with no mocha flavor whatsoever; it tasted like an espresso with too much milk and way too much foam. My friend was equally disappointed with her regular coffee. I liked the vibe of this place, minus how dark it seemed. I think perhaps it seemed extra “dark” because my friend and I were treated like we were an inconvenience. It

I will definitely come back again! Service was wonderful and the atmosphere was calming. The breakfast sandwich was tasty but a little salty. I also tried their iced latte with their homemade caramel sauce; it was quite smooth and no need to add additional sugar.

Chose to go local rather than Starbucks, Dunkin, or Joe’s. I’ve been here a few times but I tend to be out later in the day and local isn’t always an option if I plan to be in a place working or drawing. The cafe is nice, small, with some two seater tables. They make a good use of space with bar seating. Not a place to stay if you’ve got more than 2 of you wanting a table unless you can grab the floor cushion seating at the front. The drink specials are on the refrigerator behind the counter and I never would have even thought to look for them if I didn’t notice the board in the window on my way in. My Halloween Fog was pretty good, a little light on flavor but with a nice foam. Poppyseed cake was *very* greasy and bland. Not sure I would chance a pastry again.

Service – not great. There was no one in line and nothing being prepared, still felt like I was a bother. In the less than 2 minute interaction at register and picking up the cup, just pretend you enjoy what you’re doing. You don’t have to go over the top, you don’t have to chat, just be nice. The barista more than the person at the register. Makes me regret giving a tip.

I really, really, really want to support local business. Frustrating.

*Looking at other reviews, interesting pattern.

t’s a beautiful caffe with cozy tables and adorable decor. We had regular latte and oat latte. Both drinks were delicious. My regular latte had the best foam. It was smooth and silky. Everyone is very friendly and the place has positive vibes.

It’s my new favorite place for a coffee and healthy style breakfast.
Fair prices; fairly fast service.
Good food options and big coffee and tea menu.
I had Matcha Latte w/oat milk and it was reach and not sweet (the way I like it); my friend had Chai Latte which was very delicious, but a little too sweet for my taste.
We also had Avocado Toast $8 + $1 for poached egg; and Poached Egg plate $9 (served with fresh strawberries w/SUGAR,of which I wish I knew before hand).

If you are 50+ years old and you want a rude + unfriendly service then this place is the spot. We were visiting Exeter, NH, and walked in for a cup of coffee and a bite to eat. All seats were taken and many of them were occupied by teenagers spending time on their laptops, and their bagpacks. The employee’s remark after being told that there’s no seats available was, “WELL!!! TOO BAD!!!” Now, that is etiquette for you.

If i could give 6 stars i would. The place is as beautiful on the inside as you would expect from a cute little shop.

Coffee is wonderful and fresh, brewed right in front of you. Prices are as cheap as they can get around here for quality that will blow you out of this world.

The inside of the shop has some good study spots for getting work done ir just sitting around and chatting. The music definitely suits AND sets the atmosphere.

The latte I received was almost too beautiful to drink, and when i finally did build up courage to, it seriously was fantastic. Props to the guy mentioned below for the coffee art and brew.

I didnt get the guys name but he was extremely friendly and a joy to talk to!

I am on a mission to try every cup of coffee in exeter, and i think i may have just found my new favorite place, taking the #1 spot.

This place is so nice! The smell of the chai tea while they make it, the ambiance, the food was delicious! And the chai tea is probably one of the best I’ve ever had
