A small cozy spot in Waxahachie. Good, fresh food is hard to find in this area. The lamb burger was soft and tender. Empanadas were great. I think the white drizzle may be mayo. Id order it again without it. It threw off the flavor for me.

Very nice restaurant tucked away near downtown Waxahachie. I’m so glad we finally went. We were not disappointed. We sat in a booth and there were pillows, I assume for lumbar support —thank you!! The waitress was very helpful. We couldn’t decide which appetizer to get so we asked her to choose one and surprise us. Which she did and the empanadas were AMAZING! We really loved the presentation of everything that was served. My husband was so happy with the mole. His words-“it’s like Christmas for my tastebuds!” My enchiladas were hands down the best I’ve ever had!

I was fortunate enough to Eat at this restaurant while I was visiting Texas from Germany . The food was fantastic.
Part of the appeal was that you could tell. The owners and staff were excited to see you enjoy their food. It was the same is visiting someone’s home and them preparing you something authentic. I had a mole and a verde gorditas these we so delicious a must try. A beautiful spicy coffee. Mexican style French toast and an omlette fried yucca and sausages. All of it was delicious. I wish it was local for me…. But I’m so happy I was able to try all of the great food.

D Restaurant Latin Cuisine is one of those unexpected surprises — tucked inside a nondescript building that gives no clue of the lively, sort of upscale experience waiting inside. The atmosphere was fun and vibrant, with great music and stylish decor that set the tone for a lovely evening.
Our server was very sweet and attentive. She seemed a little nervous and like she might’ve been practicing memorizing orders — but we appreciated her effort and warmth throughout the meal!
We started with drinks and appetizers. I don’t drink, but the others at the table loved their flavored margaritas — just a heads up that if you want the spicy margarita to really bring the heat, ask for extra spice. I had the hibiscus tea, which was refreshing and lovely.
Appetizer-wise, the brisket queso was a standout and definitely worth the $3 upcharge over the standard chorizo version (according to our repeat visitors). The pupusas (comes with 3) and yuca fries were also delicious. They bring chips and two salsas — a roja and a black bean one. While the chips were a little too thick and crunchy for our taste, they held up well to the queso.
Entrees were a mix of hits and small misses. The ropa vieja was hands-down the table favorite — deeply flavorful and tender. The pollo guisado was also excellent, though the rice didn’t quite measure up. The pasta latina surprised us in the best way with its unique flavors. The carne asada could’ve used just a touch more pink, and the bread it came with wasn’t our favorite — but taking the waitress’s advice to order a side of tortillas made all the difference. The lamb burger was just okay — a little overcooked, and the crinkle fries on the side weren’t seasoned or crisp enough to finish.
Prices are on the higher end, so it’s definitely more of a treat-yourself night out — but for the quality of many of the dishes and the welcoming atmosphere, it’s worth it.
We’d absolutely recommend D to anyone looking for a special night out in Hachie. It’s a great little joint with heart, flavor, and potential. We’ll definitely be back.

Absolutely incredible experience! The empanadas and fajitas were out of this world—packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. Hands down the best chips and salsa I’ve had anywhere, definitely better than any Mexican restaurant in Waxahachie. What really made the visit even more special was our server, Iris. She gave fantastic recommendations and made us feel completely at home with her warm hospitality. We’ll definitely be coming back!

This is our go-to place for fresh, authentic Latin food. Clean, bright, happy atmosphere… friendly owners, excellent bartender and outstanding service! But… it’s all about the delicious FOOD! We have just worked our way down the menu, and everything has been amazing! We’ve been for brunch, lunch and dinner. The menu changes, and we always look forward to the new additions and inventive new drinks. Do yourself a favor and go… and chat with Carlos or Sara about the food, or ask Matt about the drinks. You’ll feel like a VIP by the time you are done!
