D’la Para Pica Pollo: Experience the Best Dominican Fried Chicken …
Reviews
Highly recommend I love it
Party of 3 (2 adults 1 teenager)
You should wait for the fresh chicken to be placed out. Sooo worth the wait. The ladies that work there are lovely ( Dominican hospitality, what can I say) but ordering here was a little confusing and intimidating. You have to pass the food and then get in a line to receive it. Since I’m not confrontational a few people went in front of me since there is no formal line. But it helped because as I waited the new batch came out( like I said… so worth the wait)
Update!!! We came back on a weekday early evening! There was no one in line and the food was piping hot! The cashier seems to have something personal going on but all the ladies were very nice and welcoming! Such great food, well seasoned pica pollo (fried chicken) and fresh fried tostones ( plantains). They also offer Dominican fried rice (chofan) and French fries.
The ambiance today, they are playing great Dominican classic bachata + salsa and PLAYING DOMINOS!!!! Best Dominican street food
The atmosfer of this is place is like any Dominican Restaurant with light and nice Music. Over here you pay before eating as similar to a chimi truck. The food and service was pretty fast and the casher was super friendly.
I had the three pieces with tostones. The fried chicken was cooked to perfection goldenish brown and incredibly crunchy on the outside, while remaining juicy and very tender on inside. The seasoning had the same taste of the one I used to eat back in Dominican Republic, crushing, well season and super delicious, the tostones were fresh and well made. I will suggest adding salts and ketchup that will give the extra touch.

The line to order the food was at least 8 -10 people long when I got there.
There is a sit in restaurant portion in the back that sounded WILD. There was a lot of noise coming from the back of the establishment.
After ordering my food which was chofán, fried chicken and tostones- I and those who had tostones in their order- waited MORE than 25 minutes for the tostones to be available.
Fresh tostones are delicious but why couldn’t anyone tell us what was happening?! They looked annoyed when we asked for an update or asked where were the tostones?!
We were just waiting in the heat and Sweating- the staff couldn’t care less.
They also have Dominican fried rice (chofán) which had too much sofrito and onions in it. It was the most dominant flavor profile when eating the chofán. They also offer French fries with the chicken if you don’t want plantain/tostones.
I’m all for supporting Dominican businesses but this establishment needs to improve their service. It was Absolutely horrible and left a lot to be desired. I would not recommend based on the service alone. The food was not even good pica pollo. It was okay. I’ve definitely had better in NYC.
I rather go to the Pica Pollo on 155th and Edgecomb Avenue than this place — 100% better and the fried chicken is actually good (well seasoned, hot and cooked through)
This pica pollo was not it. I’ve reviewed a lot of places in NYC. You can get better fried chicken (Pica Pollo) elsewhere.
