This food was decent for the price. I couldn’t even finish my food the portion was so big, and as far as taste goes it was ok. The chicken was juicy and crispy and the sauce was good. Everything tasted fine maybe just a bit under seasoned. I’d come here again.

If there’s such thing as a fast food Hawaiian BBQ restaurant, this is it. Each plate is made to order so the food isn’t fast, but the quality of the food reflects the fast food experience.
For example, the spring rolls are not made onsite. If you eat dining in, the food is served in to go containers.
Expect to pay extra for the sauces and some of the prices on the menu items do not match what you are charged for. In my case the menu shows $2.75 for 2 spring rolls, but my receipt shows a charge of $3.00
I am not quibbling over price, overall it is obvious that the restaurant’s focus is not the experience, nor the quality and presentation but the quantity of food. The portions were large allowing my wife and I to share a lunch plate – the Hawaiian BBQ mix plate

Most of food was great, friendly no frills place for a quick dinner. My katsu chicken tasted good but took a long time to arrive and when it it was overcooked at the ends, the middle bits were delicious though!

Best takeout we got during our Santa Maria trip! We saw the coupon on the back of a Food Maxx receipt (in the same plaza) and we’re so glad that we came by for lunch. The wait time can be a bit long (over 20 min) during lunch hours but the food is delicious! Will come back next time we are in town.
I did notice that the regulars ordered extra sauce. The musubi was surprisingly dry (no sauce), so maybe you have to request sauce at this place for items that don’t explicitly include it.
Pros: great Hawaiian BBQ
Cons: long wait times, no sauce on spam musubi

Small layout, friendly staff. I always get the beef, it’s always fantastic. One of the few places that have macaroni salad I like, rice is good to.

The food was extremely poor quality. The chicken was flavorless, the teriyaki sauce was basically brown water (no flavor no thickness) added nothing to meal. The rice was borderline dry and the macaroni salad was lackluster. The spring rolls were fine but slightly undercooked and did not come with any sauce.

I COULD HAVE DIED! I am disappointed in the quality of food I received at D&A Hawaiian BBQ. As you can see, I was enjoying my food when I notice this rusty piece of wire-like metal in my food. I am lucky I spotted it before chewing and or swallowing it. Needless to say, I don’t recommend this place!! Please go anywhere else!!!

Really good food! We got the two meat chicken katsu and beef, and both were very good. The macaroni salad is one of the best we’ve had at any Hawaiian barbecue.

I have got to stop eating the food before I take the picture this was so good it’s fresh and they gave me a lot of food I was expecting to be cheated out of my money like most hawaiian barbecue places but this one gave me more food than I was expecting so I have no complaints on the price. Macaroni salad could use some salt. Staff was fast and friendly. Clean facility. If im ever in Santa Maria again i will return.
