Love this little neighborhood gem.
The Crab dip is some of the best I’ve ever had. The Nan bread that comes with it is absolutely delicious. Make sure they don’t overcook it. The first time I came it was perfect, the second time they overcooked it and I sent it back and they remade it-great customer service. The drinks were delicious as well. Salmon bites are amazing and the wings are juicy and tender.

Stopped by here at 6PM on a Thursday evening as we heard they had $1 oysters and $8 rail martinis ($2 extra to upgrade to Tito’s) on this evening. Strip mall location but the restaurant is open layout and looks modern and renovated. Large comfortable booths. It was also probably less than 25% full this evening and yet they were so short on staff our server at our table was the bartender….so service was slow and a little haphazard (not his fault at all – he was a nice friendly guy, but he had a whole bar of customers AND making all the drinks for the whole restaurant to attend to!!). They also had some fun seasonal cocktail specials. The oysters took about 30 minutes but when they came out they were expertly shucked and large size and tasted great. We ordered another 6 after those and they were fine but about half the size of the original. Oysters came with horseradish, cocktail sauce, and a red vinegar (seemed like) sauce. Drinks were OK, no issues. Steak sandwich with fries was $20 and was OK, as was the steak salad for $20. The Chef Special was a crab cake stuffed salmon for $30. While this entree tasted great and was well cooked, there was nothing “stuffed” about it and it was a minimal portion of actual crab cake as it looked like they just cut a normal crab cake in half, covered with cheese, and set it on top of a standard size salmon filet….didn’t feel like a $30 chef special. Anyhow, the oysters were good and a great value and if they hire more staff could make for a good reason to attend their various specials….but at $20-$30 regular price entrees and no views or water, I suspect this is mainly useful for locals looking for a quick bite.

It was great. We happened to be there in poster night “Thursday”. The oysters were incredible salt and plump not what you would expect for a buck a shuck. The food from the brushless appetizer to dessert were delicious.

This was my fourth visit to this restaurant, and for the fourth time, the charcuterie board was unavailable. I was told it is likely being removed from the menu altogether.
The restaurant was not busy during my most recent visit, so service flowed smoothly and was attentive without being overbearing. Unfortunately, the food itself did not quite measure up. The fried green tomatoes, which I had enjoyed on previous occasions, tasted noticeably different this time and lacked the same appeal. The tuna tartare was unexpectedly bland, as was the salmon. The asparagus arrived slightly overcooked, though the mashed potatoes were excellent—creamy, well-seasoned, and the standout of the meal. The ribs, while flavorful at their core, were oily and unbalanced until wiped down, which detracted from the overall experience.

On a positive note, the wine I ordered was delightful.

Overall, while the service remains solid and there are a few menu items that shine, the inconsistency in preparation and the removal of key dishes like the charcuterie board have made each return visit less rewarding. I hope to see the kitchen refocus on consistency and flavor so the dining experience can match the quality of the atmosphere,

I ate at Cypress restaurant for the first time last nite. New decor here (I recall when this place was a different restaurant) is much nicer than the previous establishment, we all liked it. We were a group of 4. Our reservations were for 6:45, we arrived on time and were seated promptly. Our dinner didn’t arrive until just before 8pm. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. Our drinks were served pretty promptly. Appetizers were a little slow to arrive but not too bad. But actual dinner took forever. The server did tell us (apologetically) that the kitchen was running behind ( and we overheard another server say the same to another table near us). Food overall was pretty good, good serving sizes, decent menu options. We appreciated they have clearly identified gluten free options (we could eat here again with family members who have food allergies). But the kitchen definitely couldn’t keep up. They were decently busy but definitely not packed. Our server also told us that their kitchen always runs behind on Fridays and Saturdays… So whoever is the GM – I hope you see this review and fix that.

How did I not know about this new restaurant? Upscale -not a sports bar! Where Sullivan’s Cove use to be. Hubs had the oysters on the half shell and the pork chop dinner. I had the Trident broiler. Food was excellent. Service was excellent. Sally our server was amazing and very friendly. Great place without having to go to Annapolis. Highly recommend. Can’t wait to go back to try the fig goat cheese flatbread and the shrimp and grits!

I took my boyfriend to Cypress for his birthday, and wow—what a gem! It was our first time dining here, but definitely won’t be our last.

We started with the fig and goat cheese arugula salad—so fresh and flavorful. For entrées, he had the 6-hour braised short ribs with garlic & gruyere mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, and crispy onion straws. I had the bourbon-glazed pork chop with garlic & gruyere whipped potatoes and charred broccolini. Both dishes were generously portioned and absolutely delicious—comfort food taken to the next level.

We sat at the bar and were lucky to have Chelsea and Marley taking care of us. Their energy and warmth made the experience even better—you can tell they genuinely enjoy what they do. The GM, Josh, was also delightful and welcoming.

The prices are very reasonable for the quality and portions. We also glanced over the happy hour menu—tons of tempting options that look like a winning lineup of cheap eats.

Cypress is a breath of fresh air in Severna Park. Great food, great vibes, and great value. Highly recommend—you won’t be disappointed!
