Traditional TexMex in a post industrial atmosphere with contemporary music mixed in with Latino contemporary playing in the background.
Servers were very attentive and kind on our drinks and the chips and salsa, which were great!
Everyone was very pleased with their order.
I got Juanita’s superior with taco al carbon and a beef enchilada, excellent!
Also in our order, a Bandera Burger, and chicken tinga quesadilla. Everyone raved about the guac, and it will get ordered as an appetizer in the future.
Also, very sadly, mussed an opportunity to try anything on the desert menu which hits all my high points.
Flan
Tres Leche
AND
Sopapilla.
Next time, next time.
We were in and out in half an hour and have nothing but good things to say.
Will return.
The meal started strong with light, crisp chips. The salsa leans a bit “tomatoey” at first, but it has a nice kick of spice that sneaks up on you.
For my main, I ordered the Chicken Enchiladas. They certainly don’t skimp on the meat—the portion of chicken was very generous. If you are deciding on toppings, definitely go with the green sauce; it was the standout compared to the red.
For sides, I appreciated the variety. I went with the rice and the sautéed spinach, both of which were delicious and well-seasoned.
The Verdict:
Menu: Good variety with solid M-F lunch specials.
Value: Prices are a little higher than average Tex-Mex spots, but the portion sizes justify the cost.
Now I see why this place is empty on a Friday night!
Super slow and inconsistent service. After we had packed our leftovers into to-go containers, we noticed our bill was overcharged. Our server admitted she incorrectly put the wrong serving size in and will adjust our bill. We believed they tried to up charge us and didn’t think we would notice. Then James, the manager intervened and took our to-go boxes without offering any explanation or apology. His dismissive attitude was unreal. I have never encountered a situation where a manager removed food from a guest’s possession because of an internal mistake. What made the experience even more troubling was the sense that our treatment may have been influenced by racial bias. Cyclone needs improvements in how to handles guest relations and accountability. Will never return.
