We had an amazing experience at Cyclone Anaya’s! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and energetic, and the food was absolutely delicious.
A huge shoutout to our server, Jorge — he truly made the lunch special. Jorge was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. He checked on us often, had great recommendations, and made us feel genuinely taken care of.

Jorge was an amazing waiter! From the moment we sat down, he was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. His service was quick, professional, and he had such a great attitude that it made the whole dining experience even better. One of my favorite Tex-Mex restaurants. This is the first time I went to the one in Rice Village and it was just as good as the one in Memorial city, and the one in the height. Very consistent food quality. Service was terrific. I wish I remember the name of our server, but he was terrific. The food came out, timely and hot and delicious.

We visited Cyclone Anaya’s in Rice Village on a quiet afternoon during spring break. We were among the only customers inside, with just a couple of guests sitting in the patio. Despite the slow pace, the experience was a mixed bag.
The atmosphere was disrupted by the waitstaff talking loudly to each other across the restaurant, which made for a less-than-relaxing meal. At one point, they were even talking loudly over one of our drinks, which felt unprofessional. Unfortunately, much of our order was placed incorrectly and had to be corrected.
As for the food, it was hit or miss. The beef fajita tacos were lukewarm and rubbery, lacking flavor, while some of the other items came out hot and fresh. Overall, the food was just okay—not terrible, but nothing memorable.
On the bright side, we really enjoyed the Botana Platter appetizer, especially the nachos, empanadas, and quesadillas. My kids liked their meals, particularly the chicken tenders and sliders, and I have to say the Titanium Margarita was excellent.
We debated between going with our tried-and-true favorite, Pappasito’s Cantina, or giving Cyclone Anaya’s another shot after not visiting since the Midtown days. We chose Cyclone’s based on the good Google reviews, but honestly, I’m not sure we’d rush back to this location anytime soon.

Stopped in for lunch and very happy we did! Very nice atmosphere, delicious food and Oscar provided exceptional service. $7 margaritas on Monday’s, lunch menu was very good with lots of options and portions were generous. They also have a very pretty patio.

After visiting MFA several friends and I wanted to have lunch and having Celiacs has always been a real challenge for me finding a place to eat out, so eating at home is done 99.99% of the time…we all decided to go to Cyclone Anaya’s and I thought I would just have tea and enjoy the wonderful company…when I explained to the waiter that I had celiacs, he immediately reached out to the manager….she (Lauren) came to our table, pulled a chair from another table and sat down next to me…she suggested the foods from the menu that would be safe for me to eat and assured me that she would walk my meal through the whole cooking process to make sure there was not any cross contamination. She made me feel important and not like what I have wasn’t by choice, a trend or that it wasn’t serious. Lauren, I can’t thank you enough!!

Jorge is the best server in the entire state of Texas. I truly believe this guy has potential to becoming the world’s best sever. Super nice and also brought me my food which was great because I didn’t want to walk back to the kitchen to get my own food. One thing I think he should improve is…. NOTHING. THAT MAN ROCKS. If you are the owner of this restaurant reading this review, give this man a raise or else I WILL. JORGE NEEDS 150K A YEAR FOR LIFE.
