Social Profile:

Cuu Long was opened in 1996 and is mostly considered the first Vietnamese Restaurant in Aiea. Over the years, locals have raved about and fell in love with Cuu Long’s Pho. On the weekends or rainy days, it is typical to see a line of people waiting outside of the restaurant. The secret to Cuu Long’s pho is that it is healthier and lighter than the traditional pho broth that is normally loaded with heaps of msg. To cut the msg count, chef cooks the broth fresh daily and uses fresh pineapples to cut on sugar too. After the broth is finished, the chef strains the broth and removes the fat oil droplets to ensure a delicious, light, and flavorful broth.

Good food and serving portion. Arrived around 12:30 pm for lunch and it was packed. They have abundant tissues, soup spoon, chopsticks, and sauces on the table. Water was served and refilled nicely. There’s a QR code on the table for the latest menu online (can’t connect to it outside the restaurant) and you can also ask for the physical menu copy if you prefer something to hold.

If you like soups, the pho noodles are the way to go. They give a good amount of basil to enjoy with it. Tried the combo special with assorted types of thinly-sliced meat, after putting them at the bottom, it cooked nicely. I liked the different shapes and generous meat in it.

If you need more flavor, there’s choices in the condiment area like salt and pepper, a sweet brown sauce (feels like hoisin), sriracha that’s not too strong, chili oil, and a slightly sour-spicy red sauce. I enjoyed the sweetness in the brown sauce and the mild sour-spicy sauce. Just add a little first and test to your liking, it can be strong if you’re not used to spicy food with a kick. What worked for me was to add a little sauce on the side and not mixing with the entire soup base. A little on the soup spoon per slurp is okay.

The spring roll in the other dish was fried just right and goes well with the chicken and vinegar blend.

Their good selection of dishes are worth exploring and keep coming for.

Stopped by this pho spot in Pearl City for a late-night dinner since they’re open till 10pm. The place was busy, which was a good sign, but we were still seated almost immediately. The service was warm and welcoming—definitely felt like a family-run place that truly appreciated us being there. I had the medium rare eye round steak pho, and it was loaded with tender meat and a flavorful, rich broth. The portion was just right, and the veggies were crisp and fresh. My son got the grilled beef sandwich, and it was super tasty.

We ordered stuffed calamari and the #9. The build your own roll is so good you make it the way you like it!! 10/10. The #9 never disappoints so much meat and the broth is sooo good. The server was excellent and handled a high maintenance table with such poise and a smile!!! Highly recommend always a go to for us!!!

Took my Mom and Auntie out for lunch, and they wanted Pho since it was windy and cold for them. It was a busy morning when we got in, but we got greeted and sat immediately. Great service, warm and welcoming interactions with us and other customers. Our water was always filled without us asking. Simple and homey interior, nothing fancy.

The food is top notch, the broth is full flavor, generous meat portion. The spring rolls are homemade, made daily, not frozen. The veggies and herbs are crisp and fresh.

Ordered the combination meat Pho, Thai ice tea and summer rolls. Really enjoyed the tasty appetizer which was best I have ever had. The place was not as busy and can seat many.

Still a favorite throughout the years. Rare beef and meet ball is so tasty. The price is pretty reasonable so it does get crowded.

Summer rolls, i think this is the only place I know that puts shrimp, meat and vegetables inside of the roll. Most skimp out and just put the shrimp.

The brother is tasty and not fatty.

Reviewing extra large rare steak and tendon pho. Lots of fresh sprouts, basil and lemon. Broth was plentiful, but thin for my tastes (so I felt less guilty drinking up more than usual). Tendon was tender, steak was alright. Portion size for price was a bit lacking for an XL.

First time here and I wasn’t craving pho so I ordered lemongrass chicken (#38?). It was underwhelming to say the least. I’ve had lemongrass chicken from other Vietnamese restaurants such as mama pho in Aina Haina and the difference in texture and flavor is like night and day. It didn’t have the nice char and slightly crispy exterior I’m used to. It also didn’t taste lemongrassy at all; it tasted more like it was seasoned with watered down yellow curry sauce like they didn’t use any spices at all. It costs $20 vs mama pho’s $18.50, I don’t think I’ll be returning. I want to add that the rest of the people I ate with seemed to like their food but we all agreed that their prices were higher than other Vietnamese restaurants we’ve been to here in Hawaii. There was also a very visible dead roach in the bathroom, I was gonna pick it up and flush it. I’m gonna give them the benefit of the doubt that it died after their most recent bathroom check? Its one saving grace and reason for the stars is the pretty good service. The waiters we had were friendly and attentive. I hope they can improve the food quality so they can convert new customers to loyal ones! Until then, best of luck to them.

Home of the $17 XL Pho!

Vietnam Pho cost $1-$4 on average.

They are a rip off!!! And it is not even that good.

Folks……Pho is not supposed to cost so much damn money. It is ridiculous! Next year it will be $20 for a bowl of soup! SOUP!!!

I also ordered the #28 which is the BBQ Pork Loin.

First of all, it was not BBQ at all. It was pan seared. The pork tasted old and sour (before adding the sour sauce). The noodles were overcooked. The sauce was weak, and I had to ask for more sauce just to make this dish decent.

All I can say is……find a new place to eat Pho, this place has gone down DOWN!

The tap water was good tho. Seriously, it tasted very clean and delicious.
