To start, the Garden Spritz was light and refreshing. My friend and I split the wagu sliders, and I wish I’d ordered my own – perfectly cooked medium rare, the flavor was phenomenal. The fries that came with it, deliciously crunchy and seasoned just right.
We got to meet the Executive Chef, Bernard Beronio who gave us a brief description of the nights special. I’m gonna butcher the special – it was a crusted halibut (I think) with a sweet potato puree and microgreens. I cannot express the mixture of flavors that complimented each other to perfection.
I’m already planning my next visit to Wisconsin with a stop at CUT for another meal perfectly prepared by Chef Bernard!
We headed upstairs for our meal and were seated in a cozy booth with a view. Our server, Lily, was friendly and attentive. We had the shrimp cocktail to start. It was amazing. We then shared a wedge salad that had the best bacon I have ever had. I ordered the halibut and my husband had the ribeye steak. Both meals were fantastic. We enjoyed a great bottle of wine from there extensive and affordable wine list.
After dinner we headed back downstairs to the bar for a night cap. We both had a pistachio martini. A must try!!
The dishes are superb, including a delicious Halibut and a Filet that was so beautifully prepared that I had to admire it before eating. The appetizers included Bone Marrow and a foie gras Pate to die for, not currently on the winter menu. Available now are Duck Empanadas and Onion soup, both delicious. There is also a selection of Oysters for your dining pleasure. Pleasantly, CUT offers a half priced bottle of wine to entice you if you feel budget conscious.
I hate to say that I do not remember much about the desserts since I have never had any. Our eyes landed on the specialty Martinis, one of which was a Pistachio Martini. This is the best martini that I have ever had in my life‼️ .
CUT is a little more expensive than The Waterfront, Osteria Tre Tassi, Chives, and other fine dining restaurants, but the dining experience is well worth it. Most of my tab was jacked up by the fine wines and that to die for Pistachio Martini. The tab will run about $180 for two, but I do love the fine wines. This would be about $30 more than the other aforementioned restaurants.
I don’t know about the new restaurants in Egg Harbor as they are too far away from us, but CUT represents the pinnacle of fine dining in Door County. Very pleasing staff and service as well.
I might add that the gorgeous restaurant is upstairs, but many choose to dine downstairs at the cozy and casual but equally elegant bar area, so, take your pick.
Whether you’re a local or just visiting Door County, Cut is a must-try. I’ll definitely be back!
Started with the All Day Chill mocktail—refreshing and well-balanced. Appetizers were fresh and elegant, including shrimp cocktail, caviar canapés, and a vibrant tabbouleh salad.
For mains, we enjoyed a flavorful filet with red wine shallot sauce, vegetables and loaded whipped potatoes, and a tender duck breast with wild rice and vegetables – both outstanding!
Ended on a high note with a smooth, creamy cheesecake.
Our server, Kris, was attentive, very knowledgeable and made sure everything went smoothly!
A refined yet relaxed atmosphere – would highly recommend!
We love eating out at many restaurants and have tried out most of Door County at this point living in SB, and can safely say, you absolutely pay for what you get; from the moment you walk-in, the ambiance is very high-end, very chique, and makes a statement.
The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable, and very accommodating to my pregnant wife, and gave recommendations off of the menu.
Overall, the food quality was awesome and well executed with decent technique and skill. We will definitely return. Albeit, knowing it is a a higher priced in the market, it will be a special occasion kind of location for us.
My wife and I were wrapping up dinner, and I kid you not, she actually went into labor! I paid the bill, and then we headed home, grabbed our stuff, and then went immediately to DCMC and had our baby boy! Ha! 5/5 would recommend.
