I got their mushroom burger which was quite lackluster. It was a cold burger with a few mushrooms thrown on. No sauce, no cheese, nothing.
Their tater tots were frozen cold and soggy, as if they never made it to the fryer to become crispy.
The wings were not bad. 5 big wings covered in Buffalo sauce was actually pretty decent.
Overall, bad restaurant though! I would avoid this if possible.
I’m not someone who leaves reviews on food but this was honestly a health hazard. I placed an order, waiting 21 minutes while others got their orders in front of me. True chaos: Names written on food bags were misspelled to the point that people were grabbing the wrong bags; a random older Black woman from another restaurant (?) started helping the workers in front but didn’t have gloves on and one of the cooks walked to another station and took out the trash, then returned to cooking (???); when a woman inquired about sesame because she had a serious allergy, two workers said they didn’t know if they used sesame (????).
When I got my burgers, they were cold as were the fries— so why did it take 21 minutes? I also did not receive an order of fries with the meal, so went back to get an order of fries, which I was handed by that woman with NO GLOVES after waiting an additional 15 minutes. $4 for a fountain drink for both drink fountains to be inoperable. The kicker? We paid $43 for this food.
I understand a bad day, but this seems to be a repeated issue per the below Google reviews with canned responses.
After eating at this establishment, both I and my travel companion became violently ill with symptoms of what appears to be severe food poisoning. We have now been sick for several days, suffering from gastrointestinal issues that strongly suggest the presence of harmful bacteria such as E. coli or similar pathogens. This was not a minor stomach upset — it has seriously affected our health and well-being.
Given the severity of our symptoms and the timing relative to our visit to Custom Burger, we believe that the food served there may have been contaminated or improperly handled. This points to possible violations of food safety and sanitation standards.
We strongly urge the New York City Department of Health and relevant airport food safety authorities to conduct a thorough inspection of this establishment. Immediate action is needed to ensure that no other travelers experience what we went through.
For fellow travelers: we do not recommend eating at this location until proper health inspections have been completed and any sanitary issues have been resolved.
You might be thinking, “surely heating up some Tyson chicken strips and serving honey mustard/ranch is standard everywhere” but you’d be oh so wrong. This is hands down the worst heated up frozen chicken tenders I’ve ever eaten. Even the sauces are bad.
I would rather eat the free Heinz ketchup packets. Everything about this was terrible and I am so incredibly surprised at this experience that I will remember this forever.
Just eat at Starbucks.
