The chicken tikka was the highlight – good quantity and really juicy, tender pieces.
Seekh kebab was too dry and chewy, almost like soft rubber.
Keema naan was big and well-filled, but the keema was quite dry.
Chicken biryani tasted more like a pulao – average flavor and small portion.
On the plus side, packaging was solid with no spills, and the restaurant has nice indoor and outdoor seating.
They really need to improve the lamb quality and preparation.
Curry Vault delivered an absolutely fun-tastic dining experience! From the moment we walked in, the warm hospitality and beautifully arranged setting set the tone for an unforgettable evening. The food was nothing short of exceptional — every dish bursting with authentic flavours, perfectly balanced spices, and that comforting touch of true Indian culinary expertise.
The attentive service, seamless arrangements, and lively atmosphere made the entire experience even more delightful. Whether it was the starters, mains, or desserts, each plate was crafted with care and tasted phenomenal.
A big applause to the entire Curry Vault team for creating such a memorable dining experience. Highly recommended for anyone in Melbourne looking for top-notch Indian cuisine with impeccable service!I’
What amazing food this place serves! I don’t know why I hadn’t ordered from this place earlier, despite it being so close to my place. But as they say, better late than never. Thos place offeted me the best of what I had ordered, and the satisfaction I achieved was beyond anything that I could’ve imagined.
I ordered a Biryani ($16.90) with Lamb (+ $3.90) along with 2 pieces of Vegetable Samosas (Potatoes and green peas tossed with spices, rolled in triangular pastries and deep fried, ($7.80). To be honest, I was expecting the same generic biryani and samosas. My expectations got flipped when I received my food.
The moment I opened the box I knew that this wasn’t like anything else. The fragrance of biryani was marvellous. The biryani was exceptionally tasty. The rice was perfect, the lamb pieces were big, perfectly cooked and in good numbers. The raita was just roght enough and elevated the dish. This was a biryani one expects, and something I’d be willing to pay for.
The samosas were hands down some of the best I’ve had in Melbourne so far, far better than what Dropout Chaiwala or any other place offers. The samosas were big, the biggest I’ve come across in Melbourne so far, and they were packed with delicious fillings, reminding me of my home. With the tamarind chutney, it was a delight to have those. That’s how samosas should be made.
I’d like to visit this place in person and check-out their other dishes. If this is their standard, I couldn’t be happier . Great food, and you really get your money’s worth, made the whole culinary experience so much more satisfying. Highly recommended!
Dishes ordered:
1. Lamb Biryani (1 plate)- $19.90
2. Vegetable Samosas (2 pieces) – $7.80
Our recent dining experience at Curry Vault restaurant has left us deeply dissatisfied. The restaurant failed to meet basic expectations in terms of both service and food quality.
Firstly, the vegetable curry we ordered was a complete disappointment. Not only were the vegetables frozen, but it also lacked the promised cashews, despite being clearly advertised on the menu. It is unacceptable for a restaurant to mislead customers with false advertisements. When asking the worker, she replied “the veggies are fresh, and the cashews are blended into a powder before mixing it in.” Absolutely false – we feel absolutely cheated and appalled.
Moreover, the wait time for the food was unacceptable. We patiently waited for a whole hour, only to be met with disappointment. The excessive wait not only tested our patience but also heightened our expectations for a delicious meal.
The lack of attention from the staff further added to the frustration and contributed to an overall unpleasant experience. We also noticed another couple have the exact same experience saying “the food has taken so long, we are going to leave as we have other commitments” – how appalling from staff to not even compensate!
It is disheartening when a restaurant fails to deliver on its promises. Customers expect to receive what they ordered, as well as prompt and attentive service. In this case, the restaurant failed on both counts.
The only redeeming dish was the chicken rogan josh which was nice.
Service staff were attentive and helpful.
The only downside is that the place had a odd smell to it, perhaps a dehumidifer or air freshener might help.
