Our first trip tonight certainly won’t be our last!
The Onion Pakora are deep fried onions dusted with spiced Gram Flour and served with a slightly tangy dipping sauce.
The Maila Kabob was excellent! Tender Chicken that’s been marinated in a fresh cream, cheese, ginger, garlic and other spices.
The Tandoori Chicken, marinated with yogurt, ginger, garlic, and other spices was just spicy enough for Terri and I thought it was fantastic as well!
The Steamed Basmathi Rice was cooked perfectly and the portion size was generous.
And the Garlic Naan Bread was tops!
The service was excellent even though they’d been slammed all night long!

The food was absolutely delicious! I’m so happy to come back in the future to try more from the menu. The samosas were absolutely perfect…loved the 2 chutneys! The butter lamb was rich and flavorful with nice chunks of meat. The naan was crispy and delish. I will most definitely make this place a routine stop! It’s definitely worth the short drive from Waterloo! So glad they are here in Grundy Center…give them a try.

I always had hope we could land an Indian Restaurant closer to my hometown.
I picked up a local newspaper and there on the front page is a new place, that’s already been open a month, getting ready to celebrate their Grand Opening This Week.
Enough said..fuel up and head North Young Man !!! Hahahaha
I was impressed with Curry n Grill instantly..the decor was fresh and inviting with colorful tassels hung all around.
I had in my mind what I wanted to order but was in awe of the extensive menu, clearly broken down to individual groups.
Shrimp in Chilli sauce under the Non-Vegetarian Appetizers . If you have ever dipped your Egg Roll in Mae Ploy sweet and sour chili sauce you know why I ordered this, because those flavors play in perfect harmony on your plate !!
The main ingredients in Mae Ploy Sauce are sugar, vinegar, red chilies and garlic, and I’m tasting all of those plus Onion, Bell Pepper and what’s best described as Indian Flavors, Their own special, secret mix, I’m sure.
These flavorful Shrimp are ,Braised and Glazed, in a nest of Green and Red Bell Pepper, Onions and those special Spices that turn good to great.
This made my top 5 appetizer list !!
Just enough heat when ordered number 2 .
My usual is Chana Marsla..( I think I dated Chana in High School ) LOL.. but this basicly means: Chickpea Sauce.
I always ask them to add Diced Potatoes, some Chefs, will.. and some refuse ??
But my favorite answer came out of my Servers mouth ” No Problem !!.” LOL
I ordered the Comino Seed flavored Rice and Garlic Naan..baked to blister please !!
Everything was totally amazing and I took home more then I had eaten so Sunday lunch is gonna be

I ordered the malai kabob (chicken marinated in fresh cream, cheese, ginger, garlic, spices and herbs cooked in a tandoor clay oven) and the garlic naan bread. It did not disappoint. Chicken and rice were tender and flavorful! Bread was delicious! Will be going back soon! Highly recommend giving it a try.
