Everything was great until we tried to leave. We paid the bill, literally handed it our waiter who took it to the back. We took our time leaving, didnt wait for change because we would have left it for the tip anyway. My wife is disabled so we take extra time to leave. On our way out the door, some female worker who we never saw while we were eating rushes out of the back and accuses us of not paying. This was in front of my family and the other restaurant customers. I was pretty embarrassed. I simply told her we already paid and I had handed it to our waiter. I waited while she went to investigate if I was a thief. I felt like the entire restaurant was staring at me. She comes back with the receipt holder and sees all of the cash in there. She doesn’t apologize, she just tells me they don’t accept cash. I pay at the hostess table with Apple Pay. The hostess is pretty apologetic about the situation.
Maybe in the future check first before accusing someone of stealing. Turned what would have been a nice outing into an embarrassing incident.
