During my trip to Tahoe, I tried various cuisines—Japanese, Italian, Mexican, and more—but nothing came close to the food at Curry & Grill. The food was absolutely delicious, with soft, fresh naan and perfectly seasoned paneer.
The staff were courteous, friendly, funny, and quick, making the experience even better. Unlike many Indian restaurants, their food felt light. I didn’t feel thirsty afterward, a true sign of the quality ingredients they use.
I loved it so much I went back twice and will definitely return whenever I’m in town. This place is a rare gem and highly recommended!
While we understand it could get a bit off beat during weekends due to the inflow of orders, but I’d expect the orders to be cooked well and served to the quantity at the least, regardless of how it tastes.
I’d strongly not suggest anyone going here for rice.
One of the few, best places to get food in South Lake Tahoe. Hole in the wall pickup Indian Fare off the side of the convenience store. Consistently tasty and authentic. My go-to lunch spot
We had a craving for Indian food and decided to stop here as the reviews seemed good. Not sure what happened but what we got was the furthest from a biryani for $20. Also, the wait time was close to 20 mins. We wouldn’t have mind the wait time if the food would have been great. Only good things were the cashier seemed nice and he filled the food container to the max. Would not recommend at all.
The Indian food was comparable to many places in the Bay Area. We got the Chicken Tikka masala and the Saag Paneer. Both were great, but the saag was a surprising winner of the two. The Tikka masala had great flavor but I prefer my sauce a bit on the thicker side, theirs was on the thin side. Nevertheless we very much enjoyed everything we got. The food definitely exceeded expectations and was served piping hot, very fresh.
The staff was very kind as well. While I was waiting for my food (I got there early), I was asked to be helped 5 times. Very friendly.
