Just ate here the other night on a whim and we’re not disappointed. We drove in from Asheville to get some things done we can’t unless we come to the “big city” and to avoid going home in traffic we decided to go here after looking up several other places to eat.
The folks who served us were sweet, attentive, and what you look for in servers (not annoying). I loved that they were playing films and music videos which made me dance in my seat while eating. The Nepali tea was wonderful! And their food was excellent as well. I decided to give one of their specialties a try, the Dum Biryani with 65 chicken on top and it was so good! It was also a lot of food so I had plenty of leftovers for another meal the next day. And their Chicken tikka masala was great as well! When I come back to the area, I will definitely go here again! Thank you guys for a great experience!

Everything about this place is amazing! Please try it! The service is top tier and the staff are so friendly and happy to be there. It’s a breath of fresh air away from typical dining experiences. The food is full of flavor and is cooked to perfection. I’ve eaten here so many times, Curry Gate holds a special place in my heart. I could go on and on about how spectacular and unique this restaurant but you just have to try for yourself!

Curry Gate on South is a great option for a sit down Indian meal. Their food and service were excellent.

Always delicious. Samosa chaat and traditional curry are our usuals. Tried the chicken tikka (dry not masala) this time. It was pretty good, but will stick with the curry entree next time. Large portions means looking forward to leftovers. Food came in a nice, reusable to go bag

Tis was a cold and rainy day so I wanted soupy/creamy/filling. Decided to give Curry Gate a try. Ordered the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. First off.. the amount of rice they give you is quite a lot but no regrets about the naan. Love every single bite. Wished there was a lunch menu so a bit on the pricy side. Doesn’t matter because todays lunch was awesome.

Listen, don’t judge this place from the outside! While it looks a little “eh”, I promise the food is good! We were greeted by the staff which were super friendly, and were seated instantly. The menu has a huge selection of dishes with basmati rice. I highly recommend the samosas! They have dishes with different meats (chicken, shrimp, etc) or simple vegetarian meals. We ordered some curry and it was so good, you can even pick the level of spiciness. They also have Bollywood music videos places which was so cool! We definitely loved that. I would absolutely recommend this place and I suggest bringing cash since the restaurant prefers that, but also it’s okay as they accept card as well!

We came in last night and were warmly greeted by the two gentlemen working. The restaurant was very clean and had a comfortable, homey feel to it.
The food was excellent. We’ve been trying to find a place that reminds us of a favorite restaurant we used to go to in Colorado Springs, and this came very close. We’re so glad we found it and will definitely be coming back.

5/5 – Some of the best indian Ive had. We came here after visiting Carowinds and heading to Charlotte proper for an early dinner. We had the gobi manchurian, muttar paneer, and a chicken dish. Everything was flavorful, well-seasoned and decently spiced for a 6/10. Would love to get a bit spicier next time. We had plenty of leftovers as well.
