I just tried Cup of Tea in Spartanburg and finally there’s a good matcha spot in town! The menu is very simplified and has good iced tea options. The matcha was really good, and my family loved the lavender matcha. I got the brown sugar milk tea, and even though I wish we could adjust the sweetness level, it was still really tasty. Prices are very good and affordable.
The environment is simple, modern, and very aesthetic. Since it’s new, it wasn’t busy at all, and the service was great. Ordering was super easy too. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to!

Finally, good matcha in Spartanburg! The Marukyu Koyamaen is a fresh, vibrant green matcha that is far and above the oxidized stuff they serve at most coffee shops. They actually use the proper tools to make the matcha here, which I highly appreciate.
They asked how many pumps of syrup I wanted, which is key to making sure it’s not too sweet and overpowering to the umami flavor of the matcha.
I wish they were open earlier, as this would be a nice alternative to the coffee-heavy shops and breakfast fares in the area and fill a gap in the market.
My husband had the Dalgona coffee and it was just the right amount of sweetness.

The best new thing to come to Spartanburg! So glad to have really great matcha and an even better environment to get some work done or socialize! They have done a wonderful job curating and very aesthetic and calming vibe to just hang or get some work done! I will definitely be a regular! Even if you’re not a tea lover they have other drinks and yummy pastries!

Thank God for this place, Spartanburg needs it! Really yummy drinks, beautiful space, sweet owner. This place is new to the area, every drink we’ve tried has been really really good. The owner works there and she really puts quality and effort into each drink. Even the strawberry milk is delicious!

If you enjoy matcha, this is by far the best place to enjoy it in Spartanburg (and possibly the Upstate). Most matchas I get around here are watered down or already pre sweetened. You can tell the quality of the matcha is amazing, and you can customize your sweetness so it will never be not enough or too sweet.
