Our start was humble, it sprung from a simple idea of opening a coffee shop to help transform Jacksonville one street at a time by a group of faith minded individuals from Lifework Leadership who knew nothing about coffee, other than gulping it down before work in the morning. Though the idea was simple, our dream for Cup of Jōb is big; to be the embodiment of the Lifework vision, “Kingdom Minded Transformation – transforming leaders, transforming cities, transforming the world! Initially, it began as a proof of concept to provide sustainable funding support to Lifework Leadership, while directly serving the community by helping the homeless and employing the residents of the Rescue Mission. However, within weeks it grew into so much more!

Deck the Chairs night of lights has run out of water so we will order water from here. It REALLY smells like coffee in here.

Very nice place, very peaceful and cozy. Many students come here to study. Read and just chill with their favorite coffee or tea drink. WiFi is available. Soft cushioned chairs could make it more comfortable.

Shoutout to our local community heroes!!!
The team serving out the Love today was Destiny, Mia, and Hannah. The ladies were welcoming, warm, and personable. Since it was my first visit to any of the Cup of Job locations, I of course had to explore the menu and and this cool venue. Destiny patiently helped used her knowledge to match my flavor palette today. I wanted a strong Cuban espresso with hot milk… no foam! ( The foam freaks me out because I never know when the hot liquid is going to hit my lips once it gets through the foam).Destiny matched me to a “brown sugar latte” = Cuban espresso, steamed milk, and brown sugar. Yum!!! And she made me an everything bagel extra toasted with cream cheese. I am a texture person, so this was perfect!! Toasted sesame seeds are so comforting!!! And the cream cheese gets soft and silky on a warm bagel. The latte was everything that I needed… strong and bold coffee whose unctuousness was complemented by the hot steamy milk which was sweetened with a kiss of toasty molasses undertones from the brown sugar. A delicate balance of flavors that made my senses wake up and enjoy this warm meal after a morning of church training and fellowship. Speaking of fellowship, this team was so easy to converse with. Each of their individually beautiful personalities tied together like rhythmic waltz. They all worked interchangeably in the different stations like cashier, food prep, coffee, and all while keeping all the areas tidy while simultaneously being attentive to the patrons. There’s breakfast sandwiches, coffees, teas, smoothies, milk alternatives, frappes, flavored sweetners, bottled sodas, bottled waters, even a water dispenser for free water. Frittata, avocado toast, bagels, pastries. Bread: Ciabatta, Bagel, Whole wheat bread (Gluten Free Bread)
Meat: Ham, Egg. Bacon, Turkey. Cheese:
Cheddar, Swiss, Feta. Vegetable: Tomato, Spinach, Avocado spread. There’s lots of local merch available to peruse throughout the shop from several private vendors. The variety of merch is orderly and attractively displayed from bracelets, stickers, clothing, books, hats, etc. They even have some extra neat sales items like seasonal items. The patrons are so friendly and I had lovely conversations with several people. Hannah even gave a golden Labrador retriever (Stella) a yummy pup cup!!! The pet owners were so appreciative and the pup was too!!! The venue has a clean one stalled restroom for their patrons placed in the back of the big seating room area. There’s outside seating to take in the Florida fresh air and sun. Did I mention that the venue is located a block from the beach and is nestled amongst other local shopping shops, restaurants, and across from a local gathering spot that hosted a 5K and a local artists today. There are different events often. I met a cool dude named Santony who shared his testimony of miracles he has lived through, as he sat down with several patrons that did the same. I can’t wait to visit the other Cup of Jõe locations.
Brava team!!! I hold up a cup to you!! Love to Ms Tammie !!!! Thank you for sharing this awesome venue full of awesome hearts to make my Spirit warm and toasty!! I added a tack pin for Guam on the giant visitors map on the wall!!! I loved the global outreach just from this one vendor!!! So be a bright light wherever you go and leave behind some Love… be there in the moment and enjoy this space!

One of my favorite places to stay during the Donna race. My son has run it the 4 years of his HS “career”, and they always have great coffee, great environment, great service and beautiful clothing and trinkets you can buy that they sell separately from their café. Highly recommend!!!

We visited Cup of Job on a Sunday while visiting family in Jacksonville for the weekend. When we arrived at the coffee shop, there was only one person in line in front of us. We ordered a latte, an oat milk latte, and an americano. We weren’t in a rush so we didn’t mind sitting and waiting for our drinks, however, after countless customers coming in, ordering, and receiving their drinks before us, I became concerned they lost our order, since the cashier writes down each order and hands a note to the barista. After 25 minutes of waiting for 3 simple espresso drinks, we finally received our coffees, and they were disappointing to say the least. As a former barista, I was genuinely concerned about the loud volume of the milk being steamed, indicating it was being boiled rather than properly steamed. The lattes tasted burnt, maybe from the boiled milk, but probably from the over-extracted espresso. I almost never post negative reviews but nothing about this coffee shop visit was enjoyable, and I hope Cup of Job can prioritize the quality of their espresso brewing practices in the future.

One of my favorite coffee shops in Jacksonville! My husband and I stopped for coffee yesterday after our beach walk. It was really busy but service was great. I love everything about this coffee shop. The mission behind it. The Bible verses displayed on the signs. The volunteers are always so kind. The lattes are always yummy! Yesterday they had cups available for purchase for a great cause! See mug in picture.

There is no place like home and this is exactly how we felt walking into Cup of Job for the first time. Locals warmly greeted us and the manager, Marcia was so very pleasant.

The strong feeling of community is so rare in such a tourist destination but it was overwhelming here! A beautiful spot a block from the beach with gorgeous, comfortable outdoor seating and great coffee with available snacks and light breakfast available. GO HERE!
