Cold drinks and good service. Small-town dive bar feel. Excellent destination—arrive in your Mercedes, beat-up farm truck, or, if you’re feeling ambitious, take the Great Western Bike Trail all the way to the back door. The only downfall is that it’s cash only, which fits the 1990 vibe.

I came (haha) from out of town just for the name. The bartender was extremely friendly and I felt at home. It was nice to feel welcome in a small town.

The bar itself is really clean and well stocked. Plus they sell town merch for children such as myself. Stop in and grab a beer!

Be warned that they are cash only!

Outstanding selection of small batch drinks and craft cocktails. Friendly bartenders that offer some good conversation along with the well poured drinks.

What a great vibing place. Very nice and helpful employees, decent selection of beers (about 4 on draft, more in bottles and cans), and great food. Also the patio outside overlooking the paved bike trail is great for hanging out and enjoying food company!

Guy running the bar is a jerk.
We were only ones in there and he was beyond rude. Got hateful when we asked about food. Just kept restating we could get frozen pizza. He said they are a bar and don’t serve food. Asked about souvenir stickers that are advertised he got even ruder and said they don’t have stickers. Took lots of talking to get him to say they do have t-shirts. Due to his awful attitude we just left. Why show food if it isn’t offered and there really is no reason to be a jerk when people come in to your business.

If you ride bikes, either trails or gravel….the Cumming Tap has everything you need to enjoy pre, mid,or post ride recovery, Bob and crew are awesome and will always make sure you are taken care of. A true central Iowa gem!

Have been to this establishment 4 times since moving to the area. Every experience was horrible. Very uninviting, unfriendly don’t have time for you feel. Last time there, was wearing a Chiefs shirt, other patrons mistook it for cyclones shirt while they were watching a Hawkeyes wrestling match, was jawing back and forth with bartender and stared they would just put me in my place. Being a Hawkeyes fan myself I tried to make small talk with the group and let them know I was also a fan, but treated just as disrespectful & rudely. If that’s how they welcome new people to the community, I would highly recommend NOT going to support this place. There’s enough ugly in the world.

I stopped for a much deserved adult beverage after a 30+ mile ride on the Great Western Trail. Beer was cold, with a decent mix of local choices with everyone’s national favorites. I loved the fact that they sold cook-your-own grilled steak dinners. Nothing special for atmosphere, but right up there with my favorite hole-in-the-wall small town bars!
