i’ve been coming here once a week. AT LEAST. for nearly a couple years. i do it for many reasons, if i can quantify any ill put them here.
1, extremely appetizing smell, the smell lures me in from the road. 2, remarkably friendly people. every staff member i have nothing but good feelings for when I’m around. 3, absolutely delicious food. i’ve tried many things, back when i ate meat to now when i don’t; absolutely amazing, everything i’ve had. 4, reasonable prices for LARGE portions. never do i walk out even a SMIDGE hungry, or feeling my pockets ache. and 5, fast service and accommodating! whenever i request something or ask about ingredients they are sure to tackle it. BEST PLACE IN GRAND HAVEN. the whole company i work for agrees, which is why we get food from here on special occasions.

The food here was top notch. The flavors were amazing and it arrived at our table piping hot. The naan, in particular, was delicious. Pro tip- order down a spice level. The restaurant itself could use some TLC.

It kills me to give Cumin Fresh Indian Kitchen only 4 stars. My wife and I have gotten food there 3 times in the last 2 weeks, twice in the restaurant and once as take out. We love Indian food and the food there for our first two experiences was delicious, savory, fresh, and appropriately spicy. Those meals were definitely 5+ experiences. Unfortunately, for our take out meal, ordering the exact same things (Aloo Gobi with chicken and Mango Curry with chicken) the flavor was totally flat and bland. The food was all appropriately cooked, clearly fresh and tender, but it was like the chef forgot the special spices that had made our previous meals so delightful. Get the garlic naan bread as it never disappoints. Awesome family business with wide selection of Indian dishes at very reasonable prices. I will go back but I’ll eat in the restaurant and either enjoy amazing flavor or send the food back with any complaint if the flavor is off in some way.

One and only Indian food place available in the area so if you are really willing to have only Indian cuisine then only go as a last option.
Staff is super cool and helpful and fast.
The food was not as expected, the only thing I liked was the boiled rice and naan. There was a smell of oil which was so much that we didn’t feel good after a while.
Plenty of parking is available.
Prices for the meals were good and expected.
The washrooms are cleaner.

Cumin was the only restaurant open in Grand Haven on Christmas Day. When I went there to pick up my food they were slammed with pickup orders and walk ins. The tiny staff of 3 or 4 people handled it so well and even though there was a bit of a wait, the food was delicious and I’m glad the place is doing well! I recommend the chicken tikka masala with a side of raita.

One of our go-to takeout places in GH. The people who work here are so kind. We love the butter chicken, lamb or chicken korma, and paneer saag. Garlic naan is always amazing, and if you’re feeling a fun appetizer, the chicken momo are delicious. Seriously, everything I’ve had here is great. I can’t praise it enough and I’m so happy we have a wonderful indian restaurant like this in town.
Note: This place is usually pretty packed on weekends, so service slows down a lot because they have limited staff. I’ve seen some people get huffy about this, so please remember to practice patience or just order it takeout. 🙂

First time, was very happy with. The chick pea batter on the chicken pakora was delicious and the chicken was tender. I really liked the lamb dish you could taste all the spices. I ordered number 2 spice, it had a bit of kick so glad I didn’t do the 3 and the lose flavor of dish. The butter chicken also had good flavor and the chicken was tender. We had plain naan bread also. I don’t believe they are doing fine in based on the way the tables were stacked but I may be wrong. I look forward to trying more! Pricing is reasonable although the lamb dish was $18 but I’m sure the meat is more expensive.

The food is very good for an Indian restaurant in small town Michigan. It was all cooked to order and came out hot. There is an eggplant chat that was to die for. Highly recommend giving it a try. My only criticism is that service was slow to take our order due to chatting with a customer. I overlooked it though because it showed a friendly atmosphere.
