Culhane’s was AMAZING. I’ll be honest, Irish food isn’t usually my go-to, but this place completely won me over.
I got the buffalo chicken tenders and they were SO good. Full of flavor, juicy, & the buffalo sauce was the perfect amount of spice. The fries were perfectly seasoned and crisp to perfection. Also the staff was out of this world. They were super duper sweet & it just felt so comforting along with the atmosphere & decor of the place. Such a great vibe overall. Definitely coming back! 🙂

Enjoyed our Valentine’s Day evening at Culhanes. Our server, Brie, was wonderful. The food was phenomenal as was the atmosphere. We definitely plan to come back again soon!

We had the absolute pleasure of partnering with Culhane’s Irish Pub, with two locations in Jacksonville (Southside and the Beaches), for a school fundraiser, and the experience from start to finish was incredible. We had our event at the Southside location and it was PERFECT!
We worked closely with Maggie, Marketing, Fundraiser, and Social Events Ambassador, who was an absolute joy to collaborate with. Thank you! From the very beginning, Maggie was informative, responsive, and intentional — making sure we were fully prepped and supported well before the day of the event. Her professionalism and care truly set the tone for the entire experience.
On the night of the event, the Culhane’s team delivered in every way. They graciously accommodated our large group while seamlessly continuing to serve other events and regular guests, which speaks volumes about their organization and hospitality.

Awesome pub sports bar with great tasting food. She could not stop praising the Reuban sandwich, said it was finger licking good. The atmosphere was that of a old fashioned pub with plenty of tvs to watch all your favorite sports.

A friend and I went to Culhane’s to watch the London Jags game and the restaurant was packed! Not a seat in the place! We wanted to stay because the food smelled amazing and the energy was exciting! The owner personally went out of her way to find us a table, sent us a yummy jags decorated donut and checked on us all throughout the game! It was my first time going to Culhane’s and I will definitely return- the food was amazing, atmosphere was electric, service was top notch by our server Jordan 🙂 such a great time! I highly recommend this establishment ❤️

Excellent food and service! I can see why this place was on diners, drive-ins, and dives, because it is absolutely phenomenal. Fish and chips, shepherds pie, and the stew were all extremely good. The only suggestion we have is that there is a little more filling and a little less mashed potatoes on top for the shepherds pie. Would highly recommend anyone eat here anytime they are in Jacksonville.

This was our first time trying Irish food and everything was great, from food to service. Our server was very helpful making recommendations and very attentive. Along with our appetizer, she brought us samples of 4 different meals to try out. We liked the samples so much we decided to order the potato leek soup. We loved the food here and will definitely be returning some time in the near future!!

The service was great. The bartender was quick to refill, check on us, bring us food etc. the salad dressing in the house salad was super garlic-y. Like scare-vampires worthy. The shepherds pie was verryyy sweet which was a little off putting but the cinnotis pretzel with beer cheese was delicious. The corned beef and cabbage was incredible! I also really liked the layout where it’s like they have a second bar set up for overflow.

We had fun! Food was good. We both had corned beef, mashed potatoes, and cabbage. Everything was delicious; I prefer my cabbage cooked a very little bit more, but love the corned beef.
The blackberry cobbler with ice cream had a wonderful fruit compote. Having grown blackberries for 20+ years, cobbler is a favorite. The crust was more pastry that the hard shell sugary pie-ish crust I like. Still a delightful dessert.
On another note, I have to commend the staff. We go to Culhane’s everytime we are in town. I made reservations as ee were going on a Saturday. Another group came in about 6:45 pm with reservations. The first couple of two couples who arrived did not like the assigned table so the staff changed the reservation signs. They were still not happy because they were there to watch a particular college football game, that one t.v. in their viewing area had to be tuned to the correct station. The other televisions were showing a different game. Not everyone in their party would see the screen in the second location, either. When a party of 5 (in front of this group of 4) moved, the group of 4 moved, making the staff clean the table quickly. The staff also cleaned the 4 top booth fast as the group who was originally assigned that table had been seated at a small table.
This situation could have been avoided if the reservation had the information and the group arrived on time, not early.

I finally stopped at Callahan’s Whiskey Kitchen today after driving by it regularly and always putting it off. The interior has a cool vibe, kind of like an old factory feel, even though it’s in a standard building. There are plenty of TVs playing sports and shows, a large bar, and tons of seating with lots of space between tables, which I really appreciated.
The hostess mentioned the crab cake sliders as a must-try special, so that’s what I went with, and she wasn’t wrong. They were quite good. Plenty of crab meat, a flavorful remoulade with a nice little kick, and served with pub fries.
Even though I was full, I couldn’t pass up trying the strawberry shortcake for dessert. I had it packed to go and tried it later, delicious! I love shortcake served on a biscuit, and this one was soft, buttery, and topped with good whipped cream. I do wish there were a few more strawberries, but no complaints on the flavor. It even came with a scoop of ice cream on the side, which I’d never seen with strawberry shortcake before, but I guess I’ve been missing out!
All in all, a great experience. Very friendly staff and excellent food. I’ll definitely be back.
