Wow! From the second we entered we were treated as special guests. Service is efficient and everyone is so friendly and helpful. Our server Cassie explained everything on the menu and the specials. I mentioned it was my birthday and I was going to have Tiramisu after we’d eaten she brought my dessert with a candle ! The porchetta special with risotto was excellent as were the shortribs with polenta. The Salad is beautifully served with the best dressing and croutons. We drove from Lexington for a show at the American Theater will definitely return when there’s another opportunity.

The ambiance is cozy with good vibes, though it can get a bit warm and loud since it’s a bit small. The design is really nice, and the bar is huge!

Our server was enthusiastic and knowledgeable, which made the experience even better. They had a fun cocktail selection, although the wine list was a bit limited.

For appetizers, we tried the meatballs, which had a delicious sauce and cheese, the Caesar salad with homemade croutons (just needed a bit more dressing), and the calamari, which was high quality but could have been fried a bit longer.

For entrees, the chicken cacciatore was super flavorful and served on creamy polenta. Definitely a highlight! The pesto pasta was fresh and flavorful, but a little one dimensional. The tomatoes they used as a garnish were great, just wish there were more to add some more flavor to the dish.

Overall, we really enjoyed our meal and look forward to coming back and trying the pizza once the back patio opens!

We stopped in last Wednesday and grabbed a table in the front. Staff was very friendly, seated us and told us about the specials. We ordered the tuna crudo special app, and the focaccia. The tuna was lovely, fresh and rich. The focaccia is perhaps the lightest, most airy focaccia bread I’ve ever eaten. It comes with whipped butter. Yum! My date ordered the cioppino, and I had the Bolognese. The cioppino was full of seafood, and we dipped lots of focaccia bread in the broth. It came with a generous portion of Semolina polenta, topped with pine nuts. The Bolognese? Mama Mia! Rich, filling, complex. Delish. I went with Fusilli. We took a lot of food home. Can’t wait to try the pizza!

Culaccino’s taking Phoebus by storm. Best Italian Restaurant for miles. Easy to find, limited street parking with lot in the back. They make their own dough for pizza and cook pizza in a brick oven. Pasta made in house. Dishes a large portions well worth the cost. Good selection of wine, beer, with full bar. Restaurant is clean, staff is fantastic. We loved our meal and look forward to visiting again. I highly recommend.

We ordered Bolognese, meatball appetizer, and braised ribs. We loved the ambiance, quick and friendly service, and overall atmosphere. The servers were very sweet, greeted us well and got our to go order out promptly. The food however was hit or miss. The meatballs had way too much garlic, but would’ve been very flavorful otherwise. I couldn’t eat more than one (came with 4 meatballs). The Bolognese was pretty good, but the noodles could’ve had more of the Bolognese sauce. The highlight of the meal were the braised ribs; they were very tender and with lots of flavor. We would definitely give this place another try in the future, though we may skip the meatballs.

The Caesar and Greek salads were chalk full of beautiful fresh vegetables and were a perfect size for sharing. The cacio e pepe, bolognese and pizzas were tasty. Many of the reviews note the warm greetings and service; in my experience, both were perfunctory. There was nothing that made me feel particularly welcomed. Most reviews also mention specials of the day. Possibly, there are none on Thursdays, and that was why none were offered. It would be nice to see a more expansive choice of wines.

We always look forward to trying and supporting new restaurants in the area. There was nothing about the experience that would warrant giving Culacinno’s another try.

What a great experience! Really clean and charming atmosphere. Wes was the awesome bartender who made extra sure we were taken care of and aware of the menu options and their specials. He recommended me a wine that I ended up really enjoying. The focaccia was so fresh and fluffy. Everything we ate was delicious and I can’t wait to come back.

Worth a try…. there’s potential!
We started with the focaccia bread appetizer. The bread was fantastically aromatic of rosemary, salted perfectly but, unfortunately not fully cooked in the center. A Manhattan, Sazerac rye, that was done well. Wes, our server was a nice guy. I ordered the Cacio E pepe (spaghetti with cheese and pepper) along with a NY Strip. The flavor was really good although there wasnt anywhere near the amount of pepper that would normally be the focus of this dish. When I asked for salt and pepper, they provided a regular old Waffle-house set of shakers… such a shame, fresh ground pepper is not that difficult. My partner had the chicken a la vodka which was good, but not amazing. This place has a lot of potential. The menu and flavors are well thought out… unfortunately, the details just aren’t there. Hopefully they can step it up just a few notches.

Ate there last week at the bar, bartender was attentive w/ out being bothersome. Had the Cioppino which I have never had before and it was delicious and I’ll be having it again. Definitely going back to try the other entree too……unfortunately my 2nd visit wasn’t as good….had very few customers, sat at the bar as last time, bartender never asked how my meal was after leaving 1/2 in the bowl or whether I wanted a second Stella…I was disappointed at the overcooked lasagna and bread was not served or an option on a Saturday at 7:00…..there are much better options on the peninsula if lasagna is the choice…such a disappointment after my first visit..

First time here tonight, overall it was a good experience and I will be back but everything in the restaurant needs a little tweaking (besides the cabbage special that was delicious!) the decor itself is Ok but seems unfinished and sloppy. Like they opened before it was completed. The hostess was very nice but when we walked in was just sitting down drawing and seemed unsure of what was going on. Just not a good first impression. All the food was good, and is the biggest reason I’d go back for more. But each thing was just… off a bit. The focaccia was cold and plain. The butter was salted with more salt on top. The pizza was pretty solid but just needed a minute more and like a pinch of salt. I had the mushroom Alfredo, sauce was perfect but the rigatoni was pretty gummy and again was barely warm. My wife loved the mussels but you have to serve bread with it for the broth! We had the ricotta torte which was delicious but then had clumps of powdered sugar tossed on it for some reason. Waitress was great, price was great, everything was just a little off, with some tweaks this place could be the best in Phoebus though.
