Got there early for a drink at the bar and was impressed by Elijah the bartender, not only does he make an amazing authentic Whiskey Sour, he was so professional and easy going. We sat down for dinner and Mia our server was equally pleasant and so helpful. We had not been to Galena in over two decades and Cucina Bella made our stay even better. Being from Chicago, we have a high bar for Italian food and everything from the bread & oil to our entree was a hit. My Wife and I will definitely comeback just for the food, thank you for a memorable Valentines weekend Cucina Bella.

Arrived Thursday night in Galena. We stayed at an AirBnB above the resturant. We where greeted at the door without a reservation, the very welcoming gentleman at the door greeted us, asked about a reservation we told we didn’t. He found us a table in short order and was very nice. The menu had several choices that where reminisce of typical Italian choices but definitely had a unique spin. The waitress was delightful amd very accommodating for a drink request not on the menu. We ordered chicken Alfredo and chicken saltimbocca. We recieved the fresh baked bread loft with amazing olive oil dipping sauce with an rich flavor filled herb mix. The food was presented artfully prepared. The Alfredo sauce was rich and buttery with perfect balance. The Saltimbocca chicken was baked perfect moist with a roasted topping of cheese and prosciutto. The toppings took the flavors over the top. The chicken was in a layer of thin pasta with a light olive oil butter sauce. Truly a delight of flavors. The food was incredible and fresh. The wine selection was small but designed to compliment the food selections perfectly. The owner visited with us at our table and assured us veal would be on the menu for the weekend. This is a resturant that was far above most as the family run environment was evident amd the passion for quality food you can taste. Dont miss but make reservations.

Wonderful scratch made food. Innovative recipes (try the suprema sauce), delicious bread basket (olive oil, balsamic, basil + garlic). Overall everything we tried was a scrumptious treat. Would 100% go back again and might do so before leaving town.

Came here with my mom while we were having a girls weekend in Galena and we were so pleasantly surprised! I wasn’t expecting to find such great Italian food in a small town like Galena, but the food was AMAZING. We split the Caesar salad and the veal parmigiana and not only were both dishes brought out to us pre-separated in very generous portions on separate plates (very classy and considerate move), but they were also so delicious. In addition, they have a full service bar with a bar tender who really knows his stuff. Both of our drinks were fantastic. The service was great, the food and drinks were great, and all in all it was a surprise slam dunk!

Culina Bella Italian Restaurant is a top-notch Italian restaurant from start to finish with the maitria-de to the final dish. The service included a spectacular appetizer (Bread and Olive oil), salad (Ceasar), and Veal Marsala with phenomenal mixed drinks (Jack & Coke, Old Fashioned, etc) that catered to all the tastes of the large food group. I highly recommend Cucina Bella to all the potential customers in Northwestern Illinois, Southwest Wisconsin, and Northeast Central Iowa!

My wife and I came in during a trip to Galena. We had some very good cocktails at the bar and then sat for dinner. Our waiter Logan was super experienced and treated us well. The foccacia and olive oil was an amazing start. The Zuppa soup blew Olive Garden out of the water. The chicken parm was delightful and my wife’s tortellini was so good. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a delicious Italian meal.

Wonderful Italian food and friendly staff! We had a large party and had called ahead for reservations. They were ready for us when we arrived. The focaccia bread and the oil were out of this world! So good I almost forgot to get a photo. But then I tried the bruschetta and stuffed mushrooms and was simply blown away. I’ve never had a stuffed mushroom with that much flavor! Absolutely Delicious!! I had ordered Aglio olio fettuccine with shrimp as my main dish and again was not disappointed. I highly recommend this delicious restaurant

I’ve made 6 different week long business trips to Galena. This is by far the best place to go for italian food (I’ve tried all the others). Everything I have had here has been Amazing! Portion sizes are large enough that I always have a wonderful lunch the next day. Even when I’m in a different city, I longingly think about going back. The eggplant here is the best I’ve ever had and it is sliced extremely thin.

We chose Cucina Bella based on the glowing reviews, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The warm focaccia came out first—soft, airy, and served with a high-quality olive oil/balsamic/herb dip that set the tone right away.
We ordered the Tortellini Paglia Fino, and wow—rich, full of flavor, and one of those dishes you keep thinking about long after the plate is empty. We split a bowl of zupa, and the meal also came with a fresh salad. The olives in that salad? Little flavor bombs.
Everything from the food to the atmosphere hit the mark. The restaurant itself is cozy and welcoming—one of those places you instantly feel good walking into.

Amazing!!! What a great addition to Galena! Let’s start with the atmosphere; clean, cozy, romantic and classic. It really does feel fresh and new. The food was really good. Large portions. I would say the bread they give you as an appetizer is in my top 5 of best Italian restaurant breads. They give you so much that for two people we didn’t finish it. The menu is unique, fresh, homemade and pretty big. The Old Fashioned is amazing and highly suggest. We will be back and take friends and family here as well.
