I’m not a picky eater and I love to try different things. It was our first time here and we were really excited to try this place out. Maybe we just had higher hope based off pictures we seen on FB. I’m not really sure but it definitely didn’t live up to the hype. I had the Thymekeeper cocktail….that was good. We ordered several starters and small plates. Flash fried oysters were deep fried with a thick batter and very crunchy. Almost like they were over cooked. The tuna nachos were one of the items we all thought was ok. The duck tortas….absolutely horrible! Chip was soggy from whatever green sauce they used to keep it on the plate. The meat was cold. Onions rings over cooked but nice flavor. Also cold though. Crawfish and pork rinds were okay; tad bit on the salty side. Had I not seen a crawfish tail in there I wouldn’t have known it had crawfish in it . Everyone raved over the Shrimp Toast online….it was mid as the kids would say these days but at least it was actually hot when it came out. Marinaded Crab Claws….these were cold but I assume they are suppose to be. These were rather tasty. Crab Cakes….they actually came out hot but maybe that was because he missed it when we placed the order. It was great quality. Probably the only thing worth reordering.
Just a recap! Most of the food was cold. Chips were soggy. Duck was not good; out of the 4 of us no one ate it. Service was okay. Our server was really nice however it was a long dinner. Nearly two hours and over $300 spent. It wasn’t worth the price we paid. I will say that the atmosphere and presentation were nice and the only reason my score was what it was.
Maybe….if there is a next time….we will try the hands.

If you’re ever in Lake Charles, this should be one of your food stops. I was escorted to the 2nd floor by elevator. The elevator took a little while to come down, but once we got up there and the elevator opened to that spacious patio and amazing view, I was in love. I had the I-10 Smash Burger with fries and the Crawfish Cornbread. The burger was pretty good, but nothing exceptional. I prefer a tad more seasoning. The fries were perfect. The highlight was the Crawfish Cornbread paired with that special butter (spicy). Whew!! They’re in the form of hushpuppies. They’re great by themselves, but that butter kicks things up a notch. I even dipped my fries in it. 11/10. Loved their music playlist! If you’re not too full, take a stroll and take in the amazing views up close and personal. I can’t wait to catch this same view at night.

This was a very enjoyable date night with my wife. Our first time at this location but it was absolutely fabulous! From the atmosphere, service, and quality of food! The presentation and the flavor is gourmet! We will definitely be returning!

Wow wow wow! This is their 2nd location that has been planned for awhile and well worth the wait. We’ve been to the OG location on University since we go to Louisiana and have loved their brews and food. This is a more elevated experience compared to the University location.
Right off the water you get a more upscale vibe. Tasty cocktails and some different menu options from the OG. There is the main floor with a beautiful marble bar. Bartenders are super friendly and had recommendations for us.
I had the Cubano and hubby ordered the Chargrilled Oysters. The Cuban was delicious and pressed to perfection. I will say it was not as greasy as I’m used to but that’s because they use duck instead of pulled pork. And his oysters were gone before I could look over and ask how they were. So clearly good.
There is an upstairs bar as well with inside and outdoor seating. The indoor area has bar seating as well as tables. And outdoor has small tops, long tables and even chill gas fire seating for small groups. It’s a perfect view of the lake and a great place to hang with your party. With this being only the 2nd weekend officially open it was a tad busy so we just snuck up there to check it out but not stick around and take up any space.

Crying eagle brewery really outdid themselves with this venue. Not only was the food delicious but the service was next level. The view was breathtaking. The appetizer was very fresh and light. You could tell that they actually took time in preparing each dish. I recommend the gumbo. It’s a dark roux with a lot of protein in it. I could see this as a good weekend, brunch spot or venue for birthdays and anniversaries. I definitely recommend the rooftop. It gives you a view of the city in all it’s glory. 10/10, definitely coming back.

We enjoyed dinner at Crying Eagle at the bar for happy hour. Wine and an old fashioned followed by Crawfish queso. Then we had the Short rib. Oh my! Seasoned and tender!!!! Followed by Bananas Foster Bread pudding! Ask for Rachel at the bar! You will be so glad you stopped by!

Literally didn’t want to leave . Absolutely amazing atmosphere with perfect weather and being right on the water. Salads were huge and the redfish was delicious. Our server was amazing as well and super friendly. Will definitely be back and make this a mandatory travel stop.

This is an upscale restaurant that just opened at the lakefront. It is two stories, with breathtaking views of Lake Charles. Try to get a patio seat if you go! Service is top notch, and the dishes are unique and very flavorful. There is an in-house brewery and a full bar. We tried some appetizers and small plates and were quite literally blown away with the quality.

This restaurant is outstanding and the friendliness from the staff was amazing. We sat at the bar on the 2nd floor and the staff Ashton, John, and Rachel were so sweet and attentive to everyone at the bar and at tables. Love it!!! Great job.

The food was delicious once we got it after a long wait for the food to arrive we had a pre-booked reservation so we were seated quickly in quite an empty restaurant. We sat upstairs on the deck outside, which was what we wanted. The music was really loud out there so it was hard to have conversations While not yelling at each other. We waited close to 15 minutes between drinks and appetizers and receiving our food. And then an extensive almost 20 minutes, just to get our bill and check paid out not sure what the problem was there, but even though our very young waitress was polite, was not very attentive with refilling our drinks and coming back to our table frequently. As we returned inside to leave, we noticed that the very young staff gather together and seem to be gossiping in conversing in their corners while not attending to customers as they should, even though this was a lunch and not a very busy evening meal, and the restaurant hadn’t had their grand opening yet I feel like maybe a manager can clean this stuff up before the downfall as being experienced in the restaurant and customer service industry myself for over 20+ years this can be a catalyst and needs to be observed, and maybe nipped in the butt before this is a norm. All the staff is very young and clicky and it is very obvious they huddle together rather than tend to customers waiting on service.
