One of the most important elements in the baking of our Neapolitan pizza is our wood-fired oven. You’ll be surprised to know that this oven was handcrafted in Naples. This oven can cook a pizza in under 90 seconds and is capable of reaching a temperature of 1000 degrees. The crust of the pizza has an internal softness which is received by the moisture and aroma of the wood. Our oven also ensures a thin crust and puffy edges of the pizza! So what are you waiting for? Reviews
The pizza was good but it was very thin and very floppy, but generally it was good.
Service was great, quick and efficient.
Atmosphere was very nice, felt very Italy inspired with the pictures of Italy, as well as the brick and mortar oven which was a nice touch.
Overall I really enjoyed this place and I would recommend it to a family or a group of friends!
The host was super friendly, super nice.
The restaurant was tidy and clean 9/10.
Talking about the food: I ordered the Margherita.
The gough was good, but there is chard and there is burnd, unfortunately 2 of my pies had burnd crust. Nevertheless decent pies.
Food quality was great and fresh, survise was really good and some what fast.
Would I come back? No, I would not.
After having dined at Crust several times over the years, I feel Crust deserves a renewed 5-star review. The food is top-shelf and taste quality has not wavered at all – especially the whole-stem fried artichoke which is just impossible find anywhere else. What astonishes is the dining setup and how laid-back and comfortable it is from walking in, to ordering, to sit down, to eating, and wrap-up. Only wish more restaurants were designed like Crust where there’s no lengthy wait for snobbish or obnoxious wait staff, no pressure upsell chats, and no discriminating interfaces for table set or clean up. The complimentary oil, vinegar, chili flakes, and oregano is communal. And the price per pie only increased by couple dollars over the years. Crust is an utterly fan-freaking-tastic laid-back place to unwind and dine.
——- 2019 origin review ——-
Many of you will read this and see the well-worn list of clichés embedded in my review. But for a dish with a debatable origin story tracing back to Chinese scallion pancakes and that has been adapted/adopted by all food-motivated populations on Earth, there isn’t really that much left to say. Except that I had what seems to be the most authentic Pizza Margarita without having to fly to Naples, Italy.
Don’t believe? Take a look at the pics and go try it for yourself. A wood-fired brick oven that delivers over 1000 degrees, ordered pizza that takes 2-3 minutes to cook, and final product eaten with a knife & fork staying true to how locals in Naples may eat it today. But this is all just show and dance, because the 5 star rating I’m giving is all about the food, flavor, and TOTAL VALUE. The [authentic] pizza is $15 with buffalo mozzarella …. cheaper than any large special pie from American pizza chains. One would easily have to pay at least 33% more at large chains or those fancy name restaurants in nearby Tyson’s mall. And this location was introduced to me by another food-enthusiast like me.
So to review:
Authenticity — check
Flavor — good, check ….. would of loved more basil but it’s ok
Portion — good, check
Price — awesome, check
Company — shared with fellow food enthusiast, check
Total = 5-stars
