The Tempura Cauliflower had a delicious sweet heat from the honey-glaze, and jalapeños, and the tempura coating was nicely crispy. However, the cooking was inconsistent—while the smaller pieces were cooked perfectly, the larger ones had the unmistakable crunch and flavor of raw cauliflower, which really detracted from the dish.
The Killer Bee, a pan-style square pizza, was the standout of the night. The balance of hot honey, ricotta, and chili created a unique and flavorful bite that we both enjoyed.
The most disappointing item, sadly, was the Queen Pizza. Despite the use of fresh ingredients, the pizza was extremely soggy, making for a very unpleasant texture overall.
We really wanted to love this place, and there’s clear potential here, especially with the creativity of the menu. But unfortunately, the inconsistent preparation made this visit underwhelming.
Our server, Luke D., was attentive, friendly and even let my mother know the chilis on the Roni/pepperoni pizza were especially hot so he’d bring them on the side just in case, which was very thoughtful.
For $76 without tip included we had the Roni pizza, Fungi pizza with pepperoni added, Sweet dreams pizza, mozzarella sticks, pineapple upside down cake and one soda. Very fair price for a ton of delicious food! The mozzarella sticks were, hands down, the BEST we’d ever had. The pizzas were generous sizes and we all had leftovers to take home. I’m not a huge pizza fan but they Sweet Dreams is something I will absolutely come back for! The pizzas were excellent; we all loved them.
The restaurant is nicely decorated and may be a little tight when it’s busy, but it is wheelchair and stroller accessible. Parking at Midway can be tough but there are parking lots nearby that are about a minute walk away. The restaurant does not take reservations but we were seated right away.
Crust & Craft, see you again soon!
The pizza was very salty; we only ate half a slice and found it too salty. I asked for the check and paid the bill. The bartender was nice and said he would inform the manager, and I told him it was no problem. However, I noticed that the manager, even though I didn’t mind about the check, ignored us and also ignored the bartender. He did not come to us or apologize for this.
Very welcoming atmosphere, with friendly people.
