Let Jess Tell It
Rotation Review: Crunchick (First Visit)
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
Rotation Status: Stays in Rotation — Craving-Specific

What I ordered:
SoyPapa Chicken Sandwich — brioche bun, fried chicken thighs, soy garlic sauce, Swiss cheese, scallions, serrano.

Food quality & texture:
The chicken is very crunchy on the outside and juicy inside — the fry is spot-on and well executed. The chicken itself is lightly seasoned (similar to Raising Cane’s philosophy), but the difference is execution. Once the sauce is added, everything clicks in a more intentional, balanced way.

Flavor & build:
The soy garlic sauce is flavorful without overpowering the sandwich. Ingredients work together instead of competing. The brioche bun holds up well, which matters with a sauced fried chicken sandwich — no falling apart halfway through.

Portion size:
Fair and satisfying. Enough for one very hungry person, or shareable if you’re pairing with sides.

Ambience & setup:
Located inside Bubbly Hall, the vibe is casual and food-focused. Good for quick dine-in or easy pickup.

Helpful details for planning:
• Price per person: ~$15–20
• Wait time: Short during my visit
• Noise level: Moderate food hall atmosphere
• Seating: Shared food hall seating
• Parking: Available nearby (typical food hall setup)

Would I order again?
Yes. Now that I know how their chicken eats, I’d be open to trying other sauces or menu items.

Bottom line:
Crunchick does texture and fry quality very well. The chicken is neutral by design, the sauce brings the flavor, and the brioche bun ties it all together. If you know you’re craving crunchy, sauce-forward fried chicken, this spot delivers.

Helpful if you’re deciding where to eat inside Bubbly Hall or comparing fried chicken sandwiches in the area.

Delicious Korean fried chicken!! Great alternative to Choong man and bb.q. I like that the sauces seemed less sugary than competitors. But really the highlights are their sandwiches!! Would make the new Albany trek again for sure 🙂 located in a food hall so it’s a casual atmosphere.

Large chicken tenders and juices locked in with a very crispy coating. The garlic soy and garlic white sauces add a great flavor to the chicken.

I ordered 6 piece tenders. The portion of the chicken tenders are large and not what you would expect from them being tenders. They are literally 1.5″- 2″ thick. Great quality. Not greasy. Leftovers taste very good as well.

I definitely prefer these to Cane’s and glad it is so close to home.

Literally has become one of my favorite chicken locations, friendly service, fire flavor, foods fresh every time. We appreciate it every time we come

Crunchick is dangerous in the best way. Crispy, seasoned perfectly, juicy on the inside, and clearly made by people who understand flavor. Every bite actually crunches, not that fake soggy nonsense. Portions are solid, the food is fresh, and you can tell care goes into what they serve. This is the kind of spot you crave again the next day. If you’re even thinking about trying it, stop thinking and order.

My wife and I love the chicken tenders. Large and juicy every time I’ve gotten to bring home. It’s for our Thursday night dinner and we really look forward to eating the chicken tenders

Best fried chicken in the area. Yes that includes being better than Chick-fil-A and Raisin’ Canes.

For fried food, it felt like it wasn’t as dense as other places, which is a good thing.

Fries were cooked perfectly.

The portion sizes were huge! Definitely a ton of food. The people working there definitely care about the food they’re making.

My picture doesn’t really do it the justice it deserves, just know it was fire.

Highly recommend you try it out if you’re even considering it!

Been looking for a legit Korean fried chicken spot! Tried them today and they’re amazing! Only reason I didn’t give Food a 5 star review was the portions on sauce & radish were smaller than expected. Would’ve loved a bit more but overall GREAT place!

Juicy, tender, CRISPY chicken. That is what a chicken sandwich should be. Got the OG chicken sandwich so there was no sauce with it. It was delicious but I think having a sauce would elevate it waaay more. Wanted the fried chicken but they weren’t ready yet – maybe next time when we visit.

The staff there are amazing! They were super helpful and able to mix different fruits in the bingsu. Their bingsu are very simple, not what I was hoping for like the ones I am familiar with but it was still very delicious. They didn’t have the red bean when I went so that was a bummer cause I wanted a mix of red bean, strawberry, and mango.
