Absolutely the best Reuben in Ashe county!!! Their pub chips are amazing too, They don’t bring you just a few either. It does take a bit to get your meal but it’s cooked to order, not just sitting around like some other places. Corn nuggets are another item that I would recommend. Found out Appalachian delivery and courier delivers from there too. Win Win situation.

That place is by far one of my favorite places. My husband and I go for breakfast every so often and we absolutely love it
it. Coming from a military family and having the owner Steve have the past vets posted inside, outside and all up and down west union makes my heart melt and I’m so honored by what he does and stands for
for. He’s a hell of a man and has the heart of gold and treats those women with the best respect as they deserve. It’s not just a restaurant there, it’s a place where you can call a family/ home. WAY TO GO GUYS

Fantastic! My son and I both got the Tuesday daily special, open-faced roast beef with mashed potatoes, brown gravy, and an extra side. He got their scrumptious house made Saratoga chips, and I got apple sauce. I asked if they had extra cinnamon for my apple sauce, and they did. My son and I both like to put horseradish on our roast beef, so we were glad they brought us each a side of that. Our waitress was nice and attentive. The owner is a decorated US Army veteran of the Global War Against Terrorism. He has sort of themed the restaurant as a shrine to military service with reserved parking for veterans, 8×10 pictures of local veterans in uniform, and lots of symbolism. Anyone would feel welcome there, veteran or not.

Excellent food and even better service. You’ll feel like you’ve walked into the movie set of a 1950’s dinner when you eat hear. Food portions are large but the largest is the “hubcap burger.” This is a full pound of hamburger. Very large and very yummy. The location is a little out in the country but worth the drive. I definitely recommend a trip to this restaurant.

This place was so cute, reminded me of the diner inside of the “American Girl Molly” movie, an old time diner, food was amazing & fresh at a reasonable price, my husband and I went here for 2 meals while on our way home from our honeymoon, the people were very friendly, no wait, you can sit wherever you want to, which is so awesome!
Very quiet & relaxing.
Highly recommend checking this place out, it won’t disappoint you.

Every time we have had dinner here we get the best food and service.
They have it’s walls with pictures of Veterans from WWI to present.
Honor and respect.
I love seeing families and friends filling up the tables.
Definitely a place to stop if in the area.

Great Diner! Very patriotic! We had the burger and fried bologna sandwich. Both were great and save room for pie!

This is a cute little diner we found while visiting Amish stores/bakeries in the area. The service was awful, we waited an hour for our food. The waitress said the kitchen got behind and made other orders before ours if they didn’t take as long. Apparently, the open face turkey sandwich caused the issue because they didn’t have the gravy ready, the bread was frozen and there was an issue with the turkey. You would have thought it would at least be hot when served after waiting that long.

The burgers & fish we ordered were amazing… but the homemade pies are worth the drive every single time. Some of the best pie I’ve ever eaten (we tried the peanut butter, coconut, and Reese’s). WHEN (not if) I go back, I’ll get more pics.
