Reviews
My food was phenomenal and the wine selection, of course, was amazing!
The patio seating was very cute and open to pets, so I brought my little cat along! The atmosphere is very simple and cute, as well as clean. I wouldn’t say that there is much of a theme or style to it as much as it’s just a nice, somewhat-modern wine bar. It was still lovely, though!
More than anything, I was pleased with my waitress. She was so kind to me and did not make me feel awkward for eating alone on a holiday! She really made the experience special to me and took the time to get to know me and chat with me. She was so so kind, and I loved having her as my waitress. She gave great wine and food suggestions. As yummy as the food was and as nice as the wine was, my waitress was the best part of the experience because she is what made it memorable to me! She made it a lovely holiday dinner!
For starters, we had the cheese flight. I recommend the Nancy Camembert cheese – It was amazing. All the cheese tastes exactly as described on the menu. It was more filling than it looks & it came with bread.
We loved the wine flights we ordered. He got red, I got white, and we mixed and matched. The wines come with cards describing each wine you order when you order the flights.
The scenery here was great with a very nice patio as well, which is where most people were.
The staff, food, and wine is amazing here & we will definitely be coming back!
It was very expensive since a small addition of honey requested to supplement the 1/2 teaspoon of honey included with my $24 charcuterie board was $3.50!!!!!!! They told us we could not get a “to go” box since customers were using them to steal wine. Of course, pizza was taken home in a box, just nothing else. Crazy!
—–> I absolutely detest giving poor reviews, but this needs to be pointed out.
I had the sea bass as the main, and it was just terrible.
I was expecting Chilean sea bass for $60, which I love. The soft melt-in-you-mouth texture, the sublime taste which needs no embellishment. So, I should’ve asked if it was Pantagonian Toothfish I suppose (Chilean Seabass)…?
This was a very different critter.
It was thin, greasy, and possibly less than 3 ounces on a bed of rich & spinach.
It was overcooked and had about 8 or 10 3 1/2″ bones in it.
It tasted very fishy, and may have been the worst seafood dish I’ve ever had in a restaurant.
How odd.
As to service, the waiter seemed to have had little training in the food service industry. Perhaps he was having a bad day, I don’t want to disrespect anyone that works in a service business, I know they have to work hard, and there had been a large party there earlier.
Amyways I called out to him for a tea refill, and finally for the bill. I wouldn’t normally do that but it was still nearly empty inside. I sensed the anticipation of the holiday crowd and getting ready for that was making him nervous.
I received a bill that included a “Large Party” 20% tip pre-added, which I sent back so I could tip appropriately. The young man that seemed to be the manager seemed quite nice and when appraised of the situation he said I should’ve sent it back, which is undoubtedly true. But I haven’t done that in so long I didn’t think of it…by the time I had fished around 🙂 trying to see what the heck it was, while so very hungry, it dissapeared pretty quickly.
I hope the manager shows this review to the cook, because sending this out of the kitchen on a major holiday, before the crowd even arrived, is a huge mistake for a place that clearly wishes to be considered a high-level restaurant. Sorry…Not Recommended.
