Is Crow’s Burgers under new management?

What we received today was not the crow’s burger that we had been getting for the last 2 years. We picked up 3 burgers an order of okra and 2 fries for family lunch for a total of 32.58. We Traveled to our home and begin to give out burgers at first we noticed the bread was burnt and patties torn apart. Called the restaurant to bring it back for a refund and was told that they do not give refunds—only remake the order. Every one knows when an order is redone more often then not it’s not going to be good because the establishment is annoyed they have to re-do something. And true to form this is exactly what came to pass because the two burgers we received back were not right. The buns were soggy with grease and fries undercooked–definitely not worth 32.58. I overheard a comment from the back that “the burgers are homemade”–I’m guessing in reference to why our patties were torn up, but I have made several homemade burgers at home that were not torn up.

I didn’t want anything for free I just wanted the edible lunch that I thought I paid for—there needs to be a sign posted that refunds will not be given because I would have not placed the order had I known. With that said we will not be back—paid gas, time and money to eventually eat the food we had at home.

I’m all for supporting local businesses, but this was dreadful. $17 for this. Yes you heard me…. SEVENTEEN DOLLARS. Burger had zero flavor (other than the brutally burnt bun)… The fries tasted funny, not in a good way, and the portion size was laughable. The fact they feel okay charging $17 for this is ABSURD. But I guess when you have no dine in options you can get away with it because people won’t know they’ve been scammed till they get home. Save yourself the trouble and go literally anywhere else for a burger.

4pm on a Wednesday, nobody else in the place, ordered a double meat with cheese all the way with grilled onions. They made it quick, quicker than drive through fast food. The burger was perfect; the right texture, the right flavors, the right proportions. You know how every now and then you get that one “perfect bite” of something? I got that from Crow’s today.

Nice crispy edges. If you prefer medium rare burgers stay away. Excellent, will be back when i get the chance.

While driving through Temple, TX, Crow’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers caught our attention. This eatery primarily focuses on takeout but also features two outdoor picnic benches. We decided to order cheeseburgers, and they did not let us down. The cheeseburgers boasted an authentic, old-fashioned taste. To accompany my meal, I chose tater tots, and my husband opted for onion rings, which were delightfully light and tasty. I highly recommend Crow’s, but took a star off in the “atmoshpere” category because there is no indoor seating. We would have loved to sit down for a meal because we were driving from Indianapolis to San Antonio.

The hamburgers were exceedingly “average,” perhaps on par with a basic WhatAburger hamburger in size and quality. One might expect a little more since this isn’t a fast food chain. The hamburger was very bland and only began to taste like, well, a hamburger after it was salted a little; even then, there wasn’t much going on in terms of flavor. The fries were acceptable but again very average.
None of this would be an issue if they weren’t charging you the price of a “premium” meal that you might get at any other restaurant. (at a similar price point I could get a steak burger combo from Freddy’s or a hamburger from Backporch.) The food was brought out within just a few minutes and was lukewarm so I must assume the patties were already cooked and were standing by to be used.
All in all, I would say they’re charging something like 13 dollars for a combo meal that’s probably worth closer to 8. I won’t be returning.

Great old fashioned burgers. Well seasoned. Probably need to get a double burger of you’re hungry at all.

I still gave it five stars but I was not a fan of the french fries they were probably over fried and a little bit too much grease. I got the seasoned ones but they didn’t have a relative even seasoning just half of them had seasoning. I know I should have tried the onion rings I was just being cheap and didn’t want to pay the extra $2.

The cheaper way to go is not to get the drink you’ll spend for a single with cheese and a fry is about $11.50. If you get the combo with the drink you pay almost $16. Not a cheap place to eat but good burgers.

*-1 ⭐ for the lack of places to eat that were clean. There was no place inside to eat only places to wait. They had one picnic table outside but you’re parking next to people running their cars. So really no place out there to eat.

Getting into the parking lot is a fun cluster. If your GPS says to go around the block it’s true go around the block. Getting out is hard too. It’s best to go away from the light go to a parking lot and do u-turn.

I will go back. I want to get a double burger and an onion ring instead next time.

** As far as service, the regular person was helping somebody else I think and the cook came out of the cook area and took my order. That was nice of him.

Looking for great burgers, then try this burger house. Staff very friendly, inside very clean. As I know of, there are 2 different locations for Crow’s Burgers. Temple on 57th street and the other is in Belton. Both are fantastic. Here in Temple, the food was fantastic. 5 ⭐’s rating. Thanks Crow’s Burgers.

Myself and husband went in and ordered a number 3 combo which comes with fries and a drink. After paying I asked the girl if we could go ahead and get our drinks, she said you did not tell me you wanted a drink. We ordered a combo which includes a drink and fries. She was totally clueless, finally the cook came out and spoke up and told the girl they ordered a combo which includes a drink. So I said ca please have our drinks, she told me again we did not tell her we wanted a drink. The cook was awesome, he said give them their drinks if I had to pay out of my pocket I will. People like her have no business taking orders if she doesn’t even know that the menu has a number 3 which is a combo and includes a drink.

These burgers are usually really good but I got a double meat cheeseburger and a single meat cheeseburger with everything on there the order was ready really fast and they usually take longer to fix because they cook to order when I got the burger it’s was dry and hard like it had been sitting up for awhile and when I took a couple of bits it had me feeling sick I had to go to the restroom and my dad felt the same way not sure what was wrong on this day 1-7-2026 because like I said these burgers are the best in town
