I drove all the way from Denton to try the seafood okra soup I saw online. I was greeted by the kindest lady, Esther; she was truly a gem. Although I waited for a while for the food, when it finally arrived, it didn’t look appetizing. Unfortunately, it was tasteless, and I had to ask for more Maggie seasoning. The seafood did not include snails, stock fish, or dry fish as mentioned on their menu, which was highly disappointing, especially considering the price. I was hoping for something much better and more flavorful.

The side of jollof rice was also lackluster; I only took one spoonful, and it had no taste or flavor, leaving me disappointed again. The moi moi was okay but a bit dry. Overall, for my first experience here, I was quite let down, especially since it was recommended by a friend.

The atmosphere was decent, and I would consider returning primarily because of Esther’s excellent service. She was genuinely concerned about my experience and wanted to make things right, which I appreciated.

I ate in that restaurant before and overall my experience was great but on 12/06/2025 I ordered for delivery thru Gruhub and it was a really badddddd experience I had. First I had ordered one egusi with pounded yam and grilled catfish with plantains and a side of jolllof rice. They called me to say they do not have egusi I had to switch to vegetable soup. Then I get delivered tilapia instead of catfish and it was sooooo burned. On my order I got charged automatically for $10 extra for some tips which I do not understand. For spending $74 I was so disappointed.

Update: unfortunately, it seems like the management has changed. Customer Service has changed and the flavor has changed and the amount of food you get has changed. I asked for fish twice and I still got beef. I was at the Counter waiting for my food when some man came up there and just start ordering his food being very rude. The lady had to tell him a few times I’m taking care of this customer. I like it when the younger girls were the Customer Service of the business now when you call they ask you what do you want? Sorry, unfortunately I won’t be returning.

Old review…The food was wonderful! Fufu was great! The only thing was the okra soup had little liquid to it.

Sunday afternoon service was great but the food was even better. Efo riro soup with goat meat and the jollof rice with chicken. We also got hibiscus tea to wash it all down. Everything that touch my tongue was delicious and I could barely push the plate away. Portion sizes was big enough to share both plates. Extremely satisfied and will be back

I visited this restaurant with my family today, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. The food was the worst I have ever had. The okra soup was black, clearly old, and tasted like it had been sitting for months. The chicken my son ordered tasted spoiled, and the meat portions were tiny and not fresh. I honestly felt like vomiting after eating the food. The bitter leaf soup was also not good at all.
The only positive part of the visit was the front desk staff — very warm and welcoming. However, based on the food quality, I do not recommend this place.

The place was neat. Food was very good, tasty, and delicious. We had Jollof rice and chicken, it was really smoky and felt like the one that was made at a Nigerian local party. We also had Afang soup, and Abula (Amala, ewedu, and gbegiri), both of them were banging.

This is my first time trying African food. I always passed this place and thought to give it a try. I was looking for a menu online but couldn’t find one so figured that I needed to come by to find it myself. I asked for a couple orders but they didn’t have any left (I can’t buy at 9pm). I ended up ordering the Jollof Rice and Ewa Aganyin to go and didn’t know what to expect. I I did wait awhile but read good reviews online so I had some faith that whatever I order would taste good. There’s no specific person acting as your waiter or waitress, it seems like a big family working here where everyone’s job is mixed. When I finally got my order, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they give you a pretty large portion. The plastic to go container was heavy and high quality, it even says that it’s microwave safe. They offered silverware with my order and even the plastic silverware was somewhat heavy duty. Our order came with a container of siracha as well. Jollof rice “tastes like Mexican rice” But tastes great regardless. The chicken was juicy and slightly crispy and blackened on the outside as if it was grilled. 10/10. Plantains were delicious. I’ve had plantains at other places but this place cooked their plantains really well: it was slightly blackened, crispy on the edges, and full of sweet and savory flavor. The ewa aganyin tastes really good… probably the best bean stew I’ve had in my life. The fried fish that comes with it is fried fish, not soggy, cooked well, I didn’t find bones all over the meat, it was easy to separate the meat from the bones.
