The Tapsmith is a Hudson Valley beer focused craft beer taproom, wine bar and barrel aged cocktail bar aiming to bring you flavors from our area, fresh and on draught. We try to bring beer from breweries that line the Hudson River, or are no more than 2 or 3 hours from our front door by car. Some surprises too. Wine is also a focus. Delicious, drinkable, accessible. Wine doesn’t have to be expensive to be good. We’ve got a wide variety of Reds and Whites, mostly on the dry side. While we aren’t a restaurant, we do have our house made wood fired Neapolitan pizza in small quantities. On nice Sundays we participate in Grub On Grand St. with our oven, La Bella Sophia, out front, cranking out about 200 pies for the day.

No, they are not a brewery not sure why google said that but don’t let that stop you. They have a ton of great beer and ciders. The owner and his wife are lovely. The fresh pizza is amazing. Cool little place. definitely stop in sidenote, they have one of the oldest dummy traffic lights in Americas across the street.
Quickly thereafter we were chatting it up with other patrons, and the owner, Tracy, who was the most welcoming and friendliest chap.
The selection of ciders was small but nice, and the homemade pizza was unexpectedly excellent. A genuine hand crafted pizza, made with care, not a 1-ton professional kitchen-aid. I assume the beer is good, we’re just not beer-drinkers.
An excellent and friendly place to hang out and kill time. We will make the trip out on the amtrak/mta the next time we’re in NYC.
