Superb! This place is packed; the chicken is so tasty, juicy, and savory. It comes with soup or salad. I chose the Greek salad with Feta bread, and the spread is delicious. Great ambiance inside. You love Greek food, highly recommend.

I love this homey Greek restaurant! When I want comfort food for lunch during my work day, I go here. It’s pretty and inviting w/its little blue lights at the ceiling and white tables and blue-seated, light-color wood chairs. Everything I’ve ever had to eat here is delicious. I especially love the Veg Mousakka, Minestrone, and Chocolate Cake. The staff are welcoming, efficient, and kind and they get to know their regulars. It’s a true gem of Evanston.

My sister recommended Cross-Rhodes to us and I’m really glad we finally tried it. Everything from start to finish was simply fantastic. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was outstanding. I ordered the skirt steak and it was ridiculously good—tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. My girlfriend had the Greek chicken, which was honestly one of the best Greek chicken dishes we’ve had. This place is a true gem in Evanston, and we’ll definitely be back.

My absolute favorite restaurant in the world! My parents took me here when I was a week old and it’s part of my genetic makeup now. Greek fries and greek rice are divine. Gyros are crispy juicy perfection. I love the crayons and the placemats and the lovely workers who’ve made this place shine and thrive for decades. I moved away from Chicago and Cross Rhodes is the main thing that I miss ❤️

I’ve been going here for over thirty years. A perfect neighborhood restaurant – great food at a low price. They’re always generous with the meat portions. The chicken is especially good, always slow cooked enough to be tender. The staff is always friendly, and it has a warm atmosphere.

The food here is one of a kind. A true gem. We love the vegetarian salad with gyros meat and the veggie sandwich — a pita wrapped around generous portions of cucumber red onion and tomatoes on top of feta. Ive also had the half chicken. Lower stars for atmosphere only because the place is old (but clean) and the drinks in house are pricey and small $2.50 for 12 ounce can. Oh and be warned, cash only. But they do have an ATM in the atrium. Still this place is a must for the food. We no longer live in Evanston but when work takes me there I carryout. The salad traveled well with a bit of preparation and separation for reheating.

For my birthday, I indulged in takeout from Cross Rhodes, and it was absolutely worth the drive from the South Side. The staff were kind and welcoming, the cozy Grecian atmosphere immediately drew me in, and the food smelled incredible the entire ride home.
The vegetarian moussaka was delicious, and the vegetable minestrone was even better than I expected — I’m already planning to go back for more. Great food, amazing hospitality. I can’t wait to visit again and dine in next time.
